Pack your bags, Ned Yost

Would love to see Yost come back on the Braves staff to replace Bobby Cox whenever he retires. Yost is a very good coach.

such a good coach that his team has been in meltdown mode to end the past two seasons?

Such a good coach that he's at least put the Brewers in the hunt for the playoffs the last couple of years, something that wasn't happening before he got there.

being in the hunt means nothing if you don't make it.

Well the Brew Crew have cemented 2 great collapses in 2 years with this firing. They are firing to fire...you can't expect a team to respond to a new coach with 12 games left in the season.

I believe management is saying that they put the team in contention by spending big cash, moreso than the coach doing anything.

That's probably true, but this is a truly bizarre time to fire a manager unless he did something very, very bad.

Maybe, but they're still spending less than the Dodgers, Cubs, Cardinals, Mets and Phillies... all teams the Brewers are right there contending with. Ned Yost wasn't the reason the Brewers were collapsing, he took the sword for it.

the manager always does.

what are they going to do, fire the whole team?

I'm not at all advocating the move. I think it was absolutely stupid. The idea that this will get the players more motivated to win is absurd.

If anything, it puts more heat on the players, which is exactly what they don't need at a time like this.
