What do y'all think about this cornerback with the titans. He's holding out on a contract which means missing camp. Plus he has had assault charges on him as well. I'll be satisfied if they sign him in a week but after that i dont care if he ever has a job in the nfl. Thoughts?

I haven't liked him from day 1. If the Titans were determined to get a DB, I wanted Antrel Rolle or Carlos Rogers.

Ive never been a fan of any player that holds out etc....

No matter their status or nicknames. They know the date to report, if they dont and on time. FINE THEM & Big time $$$$$.

I actually liked the pick at first. I'm starting to think more and more though that it was a big time mistake not to take Rolle.

Why? I think if the teams hold the power to cut, change and abuse players' contracts, the players should have that same right. I'm just looking to get rid of the double standard, and make teams honor their contracts if players have to.

I would set a date for him to sign, then if he doesn't sign trade his rights to someone else

Talk radio fodder in Nashville says he delaying signing because he would fail a required drug test.

Another possible explanation is the preliminary hearing on an assualt charge (I think it's assault) on a night club owner is August 11. The word is, the Titans are also stalling until after the hearing.

edit (changed to Aug 11, from 12)

Agreed Milo. This isn't like MLB or the NBA where the money is guaranteed. In the NFL the only thing guaranteed is the signing bonus, and with NFL careers averaging something like 5-7 years, I say get all you can get as fast as you can get it.

well that he may be. But he is the best corner in the draft in my opinon. He can bring tennessee return skills of the likes of kevin dyson, which hasnt been seen in a long time for us tennessee fans. every year some one does this to every team. Its really no big deal. Its not like tennessee is going any where this year. I just hope if they are going to suck, then suck real bad so we can get Linehart to run our offense. wouldnt that be something, linehart and chow back together again.

I think if they want to play and make that kind of money, Then show up! Contracts, Agents and Money do make the NFL less fun.
