Pahokee kicked out of Oregon 7-on-7

heard a couple of different stories on this one, look Pahokee is about as country as it gets, they are mostly good kids, but if you haven't been to Pahokee or "the glades" its a different world, full of sugar cane fields and nothing to do, extremely extremely and mean extremely POOR area that most people over look the kids out there. They are looked down upon so most of the kids grow up with a little chip on their shoulder, and honestly anyone on this board would to, football is a way out of a bad life for them...

I have heard at these functions that the pahokee kids are targeted and made fun of, mostly because a lot of times these kids don't look the part, so when the kids start beating the crap out of the other teams with their speed and god given ability the pahokee kids talk a little trash....honestly I guess until you have seen the area, the situations that they live in you would wouldn't understand.

It appears that the reason for the dismissal was rude and disrespectful attitudes to the other teams and tournament officials.

Haha...that is kind of funny...

BTW Rex, I see what you are getting at about them coming from a rough upbringing....but that doesn't excuse them acting disrespectful and being jerks. Just my $.02

if football is a way out then why are they getting kicked off the field. talkin smack is one thing & being a disrespectful thug is another. last year just before they came up to play Byrnes one of their players was killed by a thug. anyway, nike sponsors them from head to toe so they should have enough respect in that regard to act civilized up there. seems like they were a problem up there last year too & i believe during their regular season they always start fights with another team. I am all for a little fun, but when your team gets dismissed from a camp....I would have to say that crosses the line of competitive back and forth trash talk...that is reverting back to the thug mentality....not saying that their circumstance is not hard, coming from a poor, crime ridden area...but sometimes life throws you a curveball...life is tough, wear a helmet. Time to grow up and start acting with some dignity.

Yeah, it will only be a matter of time until juvenile detention turns into prison.
