Is the rock painted for Derrick Brown this weekend? Most important "on the fence" recruit of this class. Let's reel him in!

I was up there around 7 tonight and it was white with a bunch of random different spray paintings on it...nothing related to football unfortunately.

We have Beach cams, Bald Eagle cams, etc.

We need a ROCK CAM so we can see what is going on.

I am disappointed is LACK of reporting being done by Volnation and VolQuest. I know Volnation is FREE, but Volquest has been behind the power curve for a few years now, you would think for a PAY site, they would have a little better insight to recruiting, but all they do is paint that horse a different color, I can get what they print from other free sources...ok, I am done venting.

Go Vols!

The athletic department should have a little 'paint the rock' fund for the artists, no?

The AD has to pretend they don't sanction painting the rock since it's a recruiting violation if they are a part of it. Can't stop free speech from students though.

There's something about discussing fundson here too. Not sure why that's a no no but I know Freak said not to do it back when Ertl and the boys were doing their thing.

Gotta admit, I kept checking in on this thread expecting pics of the newly painted rock.

What happened? Did all of the effort students graduate? (insert entitled generation jokes here) :)

We're definitely not slow playing a 5*.

We wouldn't slow play him in November, but the situation is what it is right now. Assuming Warrior & Byrd are in, spots are very limited and depending on who you ask, there may only be room for 1 or 2 of Dickerson, Kongbo, Brown, and others. Hard to imagine slow playing a guy of his talent, but I'm not sure we can say we're "definitely not slow playing" him. Seems the staff feels better about where we are with O-line talent and depth than they do about D-line.

It makes no sense to turn down a 5* with 3*s on the roster and the ability to forward count a spot next year. You take the best talent you can get and reconcile the numbers.

A moot point, really, because Dickerson seems the least likely to commit, especially since we'd probably like to RS him and he could see PT sooner elsewhere. It's similar to the Drew Richmond situation last year. If Dickerson wants to commit and is willing to consider a RS, I can't believe CBJ would turn down a 5* that would give us elite depth. JMO.
