Painting with a UT Twist

First time poster, long time lurker.... like 10+ years as a lurker. Love to read here, just usually don't have much to say.

This past year my daughter enrolled for her freshman year at UTK. 3rd gen Vol! She recruited a couple of friends and they took it upon themselves to start painting the rock for game day to share their passion for their school and the arts.

That has been shared all over social media and other outlets. This has led to other opportunities. Over the Christmas break, she started a piece for a family in Knoxville. It is a 34-foot mural in their family game room.

Since this is private and most will never get a chance to see it, I thought I would share it here for you orange blooded freaks to see. The owner has given her permission to share on Instagram and other social media outlets. She is just getting started and has a long way to go, but it is underway.

Same here. I'm pretty good at writing, but I don't consider that art. I can't draw, paint, or stuff like that if my life depended on it.

JWBottom, gal has a Bluetooth earpiece, or has a hearing impairment? Curious about the right ear thingie.

You must be extremely proud of her. I know I would be. Be sure you guys send us the final product. Can’t speak for everyone, but I myself love seeing this kind of talent put to use! I’m sure that family will be pleasantly pleased with the final product.

She grooves as she paints. Listening to her Apple whatever..... drowning out the noise......

I know she follows Payton Miller... I understand they have communicated through social media.

Here are a couple of pieces she has done on the Rock this past football season....

Just an FYI... I couldn't draw a stick figure on an etch-a-sketch.

She is truly the answer to our collective prayers.

All last season (and the one before? Don't remember exactly when Payton graduated), every time someone linked the live cam of the Rock, this board was filled with comments wishing Payton would return, or someone else with talent would pick up the brush in her stead.

And here your daughter is, our wish come true.

Please thank her for all of us.

A lady I've used for pet and granddaughter paintings is originally from Pittsburg but lives in Seattle now. She does quite a few sports figure paintings .... In fact did one commemorating Johnny Majors national championship with Pitt back in the day. Check out: Paints By Kait Maybe your daughter and Kait can collaborate on something. Your daughter has obvious talent and a bright future!
