Or a quote taken out of context? You decide

A few weeks before she was nominated for Vice-President, she told a visiting journalist—Philip Gourevitch, of this magazine—that “we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs.”

she is clearly protecting the natural resources and any funding from those resources for the good of the state as a whole.

It might be a lame form of protectionism, but it's not socialism. Socialism is about redistribution of wealth and equal outcomes. Using abundant natural resources to help increase the quality of life in the state is hardly the same thing.

She is awful close to Russia though. :)

good point. That Bering Strait just isn't wide enough to preclude socialism by osmosis.

After this election is over, I Alaska to secede and become the first annexed state in the new Soviet Union. Cheers, Comrade Palin!

Plus, I just don't know where she spent her time before that wall came down.

I think you can actually rent a documentary covering that very topic at your local adult establishment.
