Tennessee's Haralson admitted to hospital

By Associated Press
October 23, 2005

Tennessee defensive end Parys Haralson was admitted to the hospital on Saturday because of an illness, team officials said.

Haralson, a three-year starter and co-captain, played in the No. 23 Volunteers’ loss at Alabama on Saturday with a fever and sore throat. He had 2 1/2 sacks and seven tackles.

Officials said Haralson was taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center for "observation and treatment for an illness." They did not give any other details about the illness.

Haralson was expected to remain in the hospital overnight.

Anyone have any info on this??

Adds to the history of the Tennessee-Alabama rivalry. Like Bear Bryant playing the game with a broken leg.

Or it's possible that he got sick watching the tape from the game.

It was noted that he was sick and questionable before the Bama game. Then he comes out and has one of his best games of the year.

Post game, theres mention of a really bad sore throat. Jesse even went as far to say he was concerned that Parys would be unable to play.

Im wishing the very best for Parys, QB's are forced to prepair for #98. SEC sack leader!
