Here is a breakdown of how our opponents have fared so far this year, along with the Razorback Stats:
Team Total Yards by QB/s
NC State (3 QBs) 997
Kent State (3 QBs) 804
UTC Mocs (1QB) 1,028
Oklahoma (2 QBs) 846
Razorbacks (1 QB) 1,236
Volunteers (3 QBs) 1,103

Several on Vol Nation have mentioned this week that we will be facing our most prolific and mobile QB opponent to date and well, I wanted to get a better idea on the QB numbers of our opponents stats to date. Still feel our secondary is untested (didn't question what they have done so far..., as I don't think they have really faced a formidable QB). Anyways, Go Vols !!

I mean it's obvious that this will be the best offense/QB we have faced but what also is obvious is that our entire defense, including the secondary, is significantly better than last year. We are vastly improved at all three levels. Green could hit a big play or two but there's just as good of a chance that he will fumble or throw an INT.

Don't forget to factor in number of games. UT has played 4 games

All our Opponents except for UTC have played 5. So even spotting them an extra game only Arkansas has passed for more.. by 133

So no Arkansas is not the most prolific passer or team we have faced its UTC.

Don’t understand why everyone is so high on the Arkansas offense. From what I have watched of them they are average to below average

Agree...I watched the Arkansas/A&M game this morning and it confirmed what I thought. O-line just decent, dline just decent, secondary can be had....gotta contain Green, Jackson and Armstrong. All 3 can make plays

I don't think it's that. Nobody's really that high on Arkansas's O. I think everyone is really scared to believe what their lying eyes are telling them. And that's the fact that Tennessee really is this good (and we're only going to get better over the next couple of years). That's why you keep on getting the weird assed combo of 'we haven't seen any good comp' mixed in with the ''we aren't really that good because we haven't really played anybody good''. They're trying to cover both of their bases in case we lose a game.

Game like all SEC games are won in the Trenches. Pass Protection for Arkansas and Run defense for Tennessee. Pearce moments getting ready to come into play. Depth of UT's Defensive line is key. Should be a good game.

Before you come in here with your sky is falling, BVS self spouting nonsense, please do some research.

Arkansas - net passing yards per game - 283
Arkansas - rushing yards per game - 212

Passing yards against SEC teams
Auburn - 151
T A&M - 279

Passing yards against UAB - 161

Arkansas got over 3/4 of their net Passing yards against Pine Bluff and OSU.

408 against Arkansas Pine Bluff and 416 against Okie State.

When they play a defense with a pulse, they struggle. No need to freak out about Arkansas....

Who responds to a fellow Vol fan like that? All I did was provide stats and my thoughts on our secondary not being tested yet by our four opponents. Up to humans to interpret stats on their own.

Agree with you on our improved D and I look forward to our D shutting down the Razorback O.

But I am not new here. Been around a long time, the old account got hosed so I had to create a new one.

The post was to intice you to do research before making such statements. Our secondary will not be tested.

The Arkansas passing game averages 283 yards per game and only completes 56% of their attempts. That is against defenses that have an average total defense ranking of 70. That average does not include Arkansas Pine Bluff, which Arkansas threw for over 400 yards on.

They have played defenses ranked:
OSU - 129
UAB - 57
AUBURN - 50
TEXAS A&M - 52

We have the #1 ranked defense in the country and you are worried about our secondary being tested.....

They are 344 yards ahead of us in team passing yards, they have also played 1 more game. They have 74 more passing attempts but only 27 more completions.

Their QB has been sacked 12 times in 5 games. Remember, one of their games is Arkansas Pine Bluff.

This is with Nico not playing just two complete games.

Really.....you are trying to prove a point by posting articles from John Adams. That guy hates UT more than Bama does.
Ha - I was waiting for that one. Couldn't put the article in blue font!! (PS - blue font means sarcastic. Welcome to VN!)

Our starting qb has played only 1 complete game.
And he will not play a full game this Saturday either ... I recommend taking TN ... the only reason the points spread won't exceed 21 is because 2nd and 3rd string will be getting some time on the field.
If the Arky quarterback runs ... he better find the ground quick or they will be playing a backup on Saturday night. Vols 48-13
