Is my math correct that Arkansas has only scored a total of 6 points in the 2 SEC Championship games they have played in?

Shhhhh. You'll break their hearts if you remind them.

Lucky for them, if they do infact lose this weekend, they won't make it to this season's SECCG.

We were totally outmatched in both of those games. The teams that went to those SEC CG's were not that great going against incredible teams. This year will be different. If we go to the game, I think we will be favored. Florida is playing like crap these days.

LOL

Hawg fans really have an inflated sense of worth in the quality of their team this season.

Florida will KILL Arkansas if it comes to that.

I don't think Arky can win against Tennessee and LSU though, so I don't think we will ever know.

Florida couldn't kill Vanderbilt.

What does how many points the Hogs scored in past games have to do with this season?

I think the SECCG would have FL about (-3).

I'd flip a coin in that game, esp. without Marcus Thomas in there. I think FL has a little more talent around the field, but ARK is tough.

Florida's offense just...it's just not that good.

Hopefully we will get to find out if we can beat Florida or not. I would like revenge for that '95 Championship Game beating...

OrangeSquare...have watched a Florida or Arkansas game this year? If we were playing Florida this week up in Fayetteville instead of you, Arkansas would probably be a VERY slight underdog based solely on name-recognition and tradition. Most people would pick Arkansas to win at home. Florida is just not that good. If you guys played them again right now you would win.

I personally think the absence of M. Thomas has hindered them on D as well. You had to double team him to stop him.

If Arkansas beats Tennessee, MSU, and then LSU, I think they will be favored on a neutral field over Florida unless Florida starts looking a lot better.

While I hope the outcome would be different, and even though they have lost a key defensive lineman, I still see a Florida team that is very tough against the run and a Tennessee team that has trouble running it. That was a big factor in determining the first game, and I'm afraid it might be again if we played tomorrow.

Don't discount the fact that you might be totally outmatched in the next one as well, being a team that is not that great playing a pretty incredible team.

Arkansas will not be favored over Florida. If you reach the game by winning against either UT or LSU and getting blown out in the other, you could be significant underdogs.

Agreed. Both times, Arkansas was there, it was as the benefactor of the other teams in the West beating each other up. The West as a whole was also very down both seasons. I think when Arkansas played Georgia in the SECCG, they were only ranked 23rd or 24th.

Imgine that. Playing for an SEC championship and being ranked that low. It was an odd year.

Other than 1998, Arkansas hasn't controlled the West as they do now.

Our last SEC CG, we lucked out in our last game vs LSU (miracle on Markham)!

We do not control the west! We have to win 2 more games for that. Tenn will prolly give us our 1st SEC loss this weekend, and we will have to win 2 straight just to squeak by if other SECW teams win out. We donot own anything yet.

You have a pair of home games and a matchup with Mississippi State to get the two wins necessary to win the SEC West. If the Hogs fail to do that, they have nobody to blame but themselves. When you get that close to the pay window, you have to cash in the opportunity.

Of course, the 2 home games are against 2 of the best 4 teams they will play this year. They are 1-1 against the other two.

If you can't split home games and win at State, you don't deserve a trip to Atlanta.

If Arkansas beat Tennessee, they are pretty much in the SECCG, but if they lose, in my point of view, Auburn will probably in.

Go, we do indeed control the West. No one moves into the number one spot unless Arkansas loses twice. I did not say Arkansas owns the West, nor did I say we've clinched it.

My point is that the Razorbacks don't need Alabama to beat LSU, or LSU to beat Ole Miss, or Alabama to beat Auburn, for Arkansas to get to the SECCG. We don't need anyone's help. That's controlling.

It's called controlling your own destiny - it's a very common football phrase. I'm surprised you haven't heard it.

The Vol fans will tell you the same thing - Arkansas controls the West. They have varying ideas on how well we will do down the stretch, but I think for now they'll agree with me.

The Razorbacks indeed control their own destiny. Just hope after we beat them they will regroup and win out. Would like to see y'all Hogs in Atlanta instead of one of those blowhard Alabama teams...
