Pastner not a fan of Tennessee Series

Unfortunately for him, his bosses like revenue and the Tennessee basketball series provides that via our football agreement with Memphis.

How so? Is Lexington an underground high school hoops mecca?

Lexington is not a high school mecca for basketball. I go to one of the 5 High Schools in Lexington. I even play for one of them.

True we have a lot of "good" players...I would hardly saw we produce real talent. At my school, I would say 2 people have a chance at playing D-I. Jamal Adu-Peash (possibly if he can be motivated) and William Gary. I play against Gary a lot (in basketball and PE)...and trust me, he is a great player. If he can get a few more inches and get better on outside shooting, he will be a fantastic recruit.

I would call Lex. a great place in the basketball world simply for the rich history and passion of the fans. If not for people like Rupp and Pitino, the program would be very different. I would go so far as to say we would be an average school at best if Rupp never came.

What a woossy. The one post is absolutely right - - he doesn't want us getting any more traction in Memphis recruiting.

Yeah. Something similar posted last year. I wouldn't like it either if I were him.

It was a rhetorical question. My in-laws live in Lexington.

Cal didn't like it either...Stokes is proof of why...Memphis should honor the last 2 games and call it a series...besides, without Cal and Pearl...it's not the same.

as for football...the last time Memphis and UT played only 39,000 people showed up...

Which, incidentely, was the highest attended game that year for the tigers. And, not far from the total attendance to all memphis state football games this year most likely
