If this happens, I have lost all faith in UT Athletics. That's saying something considering I'm such a sunshine pumper on most days.

Forde covered Louisville athletics for 17 years and still lives in Louisville. Maybe some biased coverage, perhaps? Plus, skeeter said today the hire is all but done. As of this evening Strong was waiting on a counteroffer from Louisville's AD and it would've had to have been a great one for him to consider staying.

I say by 3Pm today we'll either have Strong as our coach or get a "thanks but no thanks".

So we have gone from a tier 1 coach with Gruden to a tier 2 coach with Strong now to a potential tier 3 coach? Awesome!

Gruden was only a possibility in the minds of the most deranged... Strong would be a solid B+/A- hire... Since Gundy, Patterson, and Petersen are still in play you can't knock it down to "tier 3" yet... But I see what you were trying to do with the whole number thing though there...

It does feel like that man, its very disturbing. I dont get it at all either. Its like we are cursed. I thought the curse was lifted the day Derek Doofus Dooleave was fired! If we dont get Strong, Hart BETTER reel in Butch Davis, Jim Tressel, Mike Gundy or Bobby Petrino. Yes people, I know some of those names come with some baggage, but nothing too serious. Those four in my opinion are home run hires.

Seems to fans who are spending hours of their day hoping to hear a coach is hired... Seems... Its a process, all people are doing are exacerbating their own confirmation biases... It will work itself out in time, there are many quality coaches out there... Football will still be played next year...
