Pat Knight? I didn't even know he was still in coaching. Uggggh...he needs to get a job at a bank or something.

He's 40 though.

Infantile, anti-social, and worthy of ridicule. He doesn't seem to understand that that approach may have worked 30 years ago, but not so much today.

Is it me or did he make a lot of sense? I guess most of you new generations folks are a bunch of wimps....

My high school and college coaches remind me of Bobby and Pat Knight, expected us to not **** up.

"These guys have got to learn, they've got to grow up," Knight said. "They don't need to be coddled. They don't need to be babysat. That's why we have problems in society. People don't make kids accountable. It's just frustrating. I feel sorry for the fans, I feel sorry for the school. These kids are stealing money being on scholarship with their approach to things."

That needs to be said every damn week.

Maybe he should just shut the hell up, coach them up, rather than rip them up publicly?

I didn't mind that press conference. That would wear thin after a few times, but there is nothing wrong with anything he said.

Why would he need to shut the hell up? He's already coached them up. Maybe Lamar can't buy recruits like Calicrappy and Kensucky...they're already improved but if you don't practice well you're not going to play well.

Your right because kids today are soft and can't handle constructive criticism. They have been spoon fed by their parents until their SR of high school. they have this premaddona attitude like the world owes them something because people hype them up telling how good they are ever since they were 5. I see nothing wrong with what he said. Yeah his approach is old school Bobby Knight and I like it. It's politically incorrect to use this example but kids their age are getting cussed at by a marine Corp drill instructor right now. They can handle a ass chewing or two.

There's constructive criticism, then there's what Knight did.

I don't care if he mentioned being undisciplined, poor leadership, etc.

But he drops in an accusation of drug use? wtf?

If the percieved "drug use accusation" is the focal point of your argument against Knight in this instance, you're argument is as weak as water. He called it like he sees it and there is nothing wrong in that. They suck mentally and are losers because of it.

And we can blame your generation for being sorry ass parents. Why are the kids like that? Because of the parents.

I love it. "Oh, this generation is horrible, blah, blah, blah." How about we have some dads actually show up, moms actually love their kids, and parents take responsibility for their kids.

Don't just blame us for all the problems of the world.

Agree totally. Kids learn from the parents. Also, I think Pat Knight is spot on with what he is saying.

Depends. I mean, after a tough loss like they had, I think it's kind of unfair to throw them under the bus like this, especially since his team is seven wins better than last year in his first year. So it's not like they are complete failures.

Not really. What kind of loser coach publicly accuses his kids of drug use without having dealt with it behind closed doors? A REAL coach would have dismissed his players privately for "a violation of team rules." But instead he takes the coward's way and exposes the problem publicly rather than deal with it as it should be.
