She might be a good fit but no doubt she is qualified better her than fire Buzz for Auburn's head coach

I voted no, not because I don't think she would do a good job (I would bet my $ that she would), but because I love having her as our women's coach. We can get a good men's coach and then have the trifecta (a great football coach/team and great men's AND women's basketball coaches/teams). I just think that at this point in time, it would be harder to get someone to follow in her footsteps in women's basketball than it would be to get someone to follow in Buzz's.

Where have you been? Lebo is no where on the coaching list! It's Knight,Lutz, coach from Creighten(sp), and Pearl

Pat has already stated that she has no desire to coach men. And it is well documented that dealing with personalities on women's teams and the ones on men's teams takes a different approach. At this stage in her career, I see no reason why she would want to take on that task.

I think they should at least inquire with her if she's interested or not, she's done enough for the University to take what she wants and if she wants to coach the mens, then UT should hire her.

I dont want her to leave the Lady Vols as much as anyone, but the team won't be doomed if she does leave. There are 560 something Ut players or former-players turned coaches right now that we could get to step in. Plus I'm sure Coach Summitt would not leave the Lady Vols high and dry and take the mens job without having a replacement picked for her.

I don't think it will happen, Coach Summitt will stay with the Lady Vols, but I wouldn't be upset if she did take the men's job.

You have GOT to be kidding!! NO serious Vol fan would ever SUGGEST Geno Auriemma. He is the biggest jerk in college athletics!! I 'm sure I'm not the only one who would stop watching women's basketball all together before supporting Geno Auriemma.

Tell us how you really feel...don't hold back.

I think we all hate Geno since that's been the one team that has been able to beat us consistently.

Man oh Man. DonSarge, the only reason why I voted no was because I like at least ONE of our basket ball programs bringing in fans and national championships.

You have got to be kidding about Gene Keady. Dif you happen to see what his teams have done over the past several years? Nothing. A women's coach would not success because they are playing on a different level. They don't have to worry about juniors or seniors leaving for the NBA draft. It is much easier to build and maintain a program. Look at the elite 8 at this year and what I am saying is confirmed. None of the teams in the elite 8 were the same as last year.

I don't believe you'd see our guys slouching around, loafing and not husling on defense.

I don't believe we'd have to worry about a lack of discipline either.

Pat could do it.

The days of the so called sloaching around and not playing hard and not having discipline have just ended the minute Pearl was named coach. Now you will see our players diving for balls, crashing the boards and just flat out being more physical. If they aren't willing to do that this year, then you will an entire different team that will.

I having nothing but respect for Pat, but we are talking apples and oranges here. I will flip it around to give respect and say Pearl wouldn't be a good women's coach. Two different skill sets that don't translate between the two programs. The faster everyone can get to UT having two great basketball programs, the faster this will be realized. And I can guarantee Bruce will be a huge fan of the women's program. He sure was at USI when the women's programs were routinely making runs at the elite 8.

i think she could do it and would do a good job. but having her as a coach for the girls is making women's basketball better!

I vote a big HELL NO! Pat spent her career building up the Women's Program at UT, and in turn Women's Basketball as a whole. I think it would be seen as a gimmick and a shame on Pat's part to coach the men's game. It would be turning her back on all she accomplished.

Do I think she could do it? Without a doubt. Should she? No.

She is the pride of Women's Basketball, and the fact that she doesn't cross over makes her more admirable in my eyes.
