When its all said and done, and both are through with coaching, who will the world remember as the better coach- Pat or Geno?

Unfortunately if things keep going as they are it may be Geno unless Pat can get a couple of more titles. In this day and age it seems all that matters is the number of championships not anything else, just ask Colin Cowhurd about his bff Tom Brady, the greatest ever according to him.

Pat will certainly be remembered as a great coach but Geno is and will be remembered as the best ever in womens basketball. Pat's insistence on playing 10-12 players every night is detrimental when compared to Geno's style of playing only 6-7 every night. Over the course of the year his girls get more minutes on the floor and more time playing with the same teammates thereby learning each others capabilities and tendencies. This style when repeated night after night, year after year produces a unified team that reacts on instinct and with speed. His results speak for themselves. IMHO at least.

Let's see if they play each other again one of these post seasons. I'd venture the hype leading up to it and the subsequent winner will make a lasting impression on whose legacy will be greater relative to one another.

Would the next UT-UCONN game be the highest rated womens game ever?

Probably since it would happen in the Final Four or National Championship game. They will never play again in the regular season as long as both coaches are at their respective schools.

Good grief, who cares? Both great coaches adored by their fans and players, both with overwhelmingly successful careers, both of whom beat each other when they had the better players, in particular the 1 superstar that makes the difference. Thankfully there's way more to life than this kind of pointless debate.

Yeah, I'm in a crabby mood - sprained my ankle last night.

That's not necessarily true. I have heard Pat say that she might resume the game after Maya Moore is gone. Her beef with Geno was about Maya and no it wasn't just the ESPN tour thing.

This is what i wanna know.

Pat is pissed because of the recruitment of Maya Moore. No one (except people in the TN and UCONN coaching staffs) knows the real story of what Geno did to get Maya to play at UCONN instead of TN, but according to reports, his recruiting practices were 'Dirty' and Pat doesn't put up with that crap...

Pat Summit will be remembered as the greatest coach in Women's College Basketball...Hell, it would have NO notoriety if it weren't for her. She singlehandedly brought women's basketball to where it is today. Anyone outside UCONN knows the perception of Geno as a slime and history doesn't look favorably upon those with a tarnished public opinion. Pat is the epitome of Southern style and charm...

You forgot about an overall weaker schedule year in and year out....

There is no doubt that Pat will be remembered as a Great Coach, and she deserves a lot of credit for what she has accomplished for her sport. But when the question is asked, "Who was the better coach?". The answer is "Geno". He recruits equally good tallent, but improves their basketball fundamentals better than anyone out there. As a basketball fan, I have to say that his teams are entertaining to watch for the way they can execute the game better than anyone.
With that said, I am still a VOL fan and I always pull against Geno, even if he is the better coach. GBO

Geno has a current advantage simply because he has had the best players. Pat has the longer tenured advantage because she has the most wins over much stiffer competition and still has the most national championships. I see the tide turning back to the Lady Vols as we now have equal players and some excellent recruits coming on board over the next two years. I see both equal in developing players.........I expect both to continue coaching well into their sixties......so still a lot of time to see how history will treat each..........JMO

I would say Pat's results speak for themselves also.
