1. USC goes on probation for 4 years and it is announced tomorrow.

1. Nick Saban sends 3 4 star players to Dooley as a welcome to the SEC present.

3. Urban Meyer is caught in pictures with a 23 year old, but it turns out that the grad student is a boy named Julio.

4. Mack Brown is caught hugging and kissing Nancy Pelosi and saying he wishes he was from California instead of Texas.

In other words, lets be ready for a 9-10 ranking at best, and start to judge Dooley based on what he does in the next recruiting cycle.

Art Kehoe and Lance Thompson would both be pretty strong recruiting names. I am hoping he keeps Garza as well. I have been a big Cregg fan for a long time, but we can bring in good OL if Kehoe is named quickly. We still could probably get Chaz Green and then finish out the OL class with some combo of James Stone, Arie K, Damien Robinson, Shon Coleman etc.

The big ? is whether or not Lance Thompson if he is promoted to D Coord can bring in Christian Jones or Corey Nelson. I do not see mr. all star game coming back even though I liked him alot, it seems he always wanted to come to UF.

I am glad our big board had back ups, and I think with a class around 9-10 we will be in good shape. Like when Orgeron left Ole Miss, I think that Bray and some of the other guys in this class are a great foundation for the future.

I also think a healthy Bryce Brown (if his hip heals fully this off season) will make people think Jamal Lewis era performances and of course the comparisons to Herschel that will happen because of Dooley.

You forgot - Urban Meyer has a baby that looks suspiciously like Mike Slive.

I think top 20 is realistic. While there is some truth that we gained interest because of the old staff, there are still the same opportunities for playing time, the national exposure that our TV deals grant us, and being a part of the same program that produced Peyton Manning, Jason Witten, Reggie White, etc. etc.

The old staff laid an excellent ground work. At this point, Dooley just has to close.

Idk i think we can pull off like the number 15th class. Thats where i think we land

At this point anything is possible. However, I thought UF would fall off the map after the Meyer deal. You see how that went.

I guess I am just an overly optimistic person. I see that we are ranked #12 on Rivals. We are still in play for Ambles (in theory at least). We had a lot on our board that we were going to have to turn away. We may not have to turn them away now but they are still very good recruits, and you know what? Dooley may (should) be able to pull in recruits that would not come for whatshisname.

We have a lot more slots to fill than most people ahead of us. So, we should move up, not down.

Also, this class is different than most we have had. We have a lot of early enrollees. They are already in the house.

So, don't give up hope Vols fans. It is still possible to have a great class. (Yeah, I was one of those who thought that the BBall team could really beat Kansas...and Texas...and Ky...and UF)

Is this USC probation just talk or has there been any real indication that they will be in trouble?

It seems all rumor and or speculation.

every time I see you start a new thread I instantly roll my eyes without even opening the thread, this was no exception.

The path to number 1 was a joke. I do believe if Kiffin stayed he could have knocked Florida off. He is relentless and ended up with the number 1 class at USC with less slots to work with. He is a great recruiter but he is also a blowhard and a man with no integrity who acts like a cocky bastard.

Hibbs I did not see you accurately predict where we would end up as a recruiting class after Dooley was hired. I also did not see you back on January 23rd starting a thread about how and why you hope our DC is Wilcox.

I do see you attempting and failing to insult me. Maybe when your eyes were rolled you unintentionally opened this thread and replied?

USC will find out by around April or May what penalties will be imposed. If the NCAA finds lack of institutional control the penalties could be severe. I am hoping for a two year bowl ban. That would be an awesome way for them to start out, and would mean that Henderson might go somewhere else (although I would guess Ohio State and give us very little shot).
