Patrick Towles transferring

Patty Ice is Matt Simms

A QB with all the physical tools that was a victim of very poor pass blocking

He was seeing ghosts in the UT game

He might find a landing spot somewhere like the American or Acc

He's probably better than barker. Never had any decent blocking, and struggled with confidence. Players were also more behind drew as the season went along. Sad to see, but it's probably the best for him. Hurts us for sure though.

And the dominos begin to fall.

I can't speak for players, but Towles leaving probably won't affect many in the program. He's not as close to young guys as barker and not respected either. He has been here 4 years. He's a good kid, but needs to go somewhere that appreciates him.

I'd be suprised to see any other first or second stringers transferring. I've heard a couple are thinking about it, but I worry more about 2016 recruiting than current players anyway.

What about stoops? I obviously don't go to Kentucky websites, or listen to the radio shows, I know at the ut game, everybody around us wanted him gone. Is it still the same?

He'll be back. The coordinators and position coaches are a different story. Stoops obviously deserves blame, but i don't think he needs to be fired. If UK is smart they allow him next season barring less than 5 again. His buyout is large, but he should get 4 years regardless. I think outside 2015 Vandy, UK has pretty much won/loss every game the way it was expected. Hopefully next year offense is better and we get over the hump.

I hate it for Pat. He is a Kentucky guy through-and-through, and a class act, even after being benched. Fact is, he was the fall guy for an offensive line that was terrible and a WR corps that had the dropsies.

6-22 for Barker is a misleading stat. He was 5-7 in the first half when he had a running game to keep the defense honest. We lost Boom and JoJo, and we had no run game.

Stoops will be back but he has to make some hard decisions regarding the OL coach, the WR coach, and certainly in the "world class" strength and conditioning program. Word is that the fat guys hate the conditioning, which is emphasized over strength.

Needless to say, this year was a major setback for the program.
