3 cheating scandals now? Is that how many this dynasty has had? Deflategate seems like ******** to me, but I'll still count it. LOL.

Yes. This surprises anyone? If you want to film one of your employees, why do it at a game featuring your next opponent? Patriots push the boundaries of the rules more than any other team. Maybe that's a good thing, maybe it isn't. But they will find every loophole there is and exploit it if they think it will gain an advantage.

Wow, I can't believe the usual cast of Patriot fans haven't hit this thread yet and started with the usual spiel of excuses such as everyone does it, Goodell hates the Patriots, the ideal gas law, everyone is just jealous, etc.

Just heard an interview with the Cincy radio announcer and he brought up a couple good points.

A professional cameraman wouldn't record through a window for something to used in a program. The video would have glare and other quality issues from being recorded from there.

The cameraman setup his camera on a tripod and aimed it at the Cincy sideline and left it there until challenged by security. It was never moved the the alleged subject of his story, the Patriots' scout.

The Cincy staff is all new so the Patriots do not have any previous video on the current staff. And they're not only looking to steal signals but also looking for body language tells, reading lips, etc.

The Cincy announcer asked Belichick about his previous statement that this crew is not part of the football operation but part of Kraft entertainment. When it was pointed out that the scout is definitely part of the football operation, he asked Belichick if as the head coach he was not aware that a member of his staff is being followed and recorded for a story, Belichick paused and replied "Nope". Hard to believe someone in Kraft entertainment would follow and record a member of Belichick's staff without checking first.

It's also hard to believe that people are so upset about something that 70,000 people in the stands see every game and are free to tape if they choose to do so! I get it, the Patriots should be more diligent based on past accusations but people tend to make mountains out of mole hills when it comes to the Patriots.

There you are. Took sometime for the Patriot apologists to come out but you had to eventually show yourself.

So the Patriots shouldn't have to follow NFL rules? Why do people make mountains out of molehills when it comes to a franchise caught breaking NFL rules for the third time? Are the Patriots the real victims here?

No, the Patriots are not victims here. As I said, they should have been more cautious but I still think it's much ado about nothing.
Nobody cared when the Falcons got caught piping in crowd noise or the Panthers were warming their footballs next to heaters in Buffalo. But it's the Pats, so everyone freaks out because they have run roughshod over the rest of the league for the last twenty years - get over it!

I'm a Bengals fan and can only dream of the them having the sustained success the Patriots have had. So sue me, I like watching a well-coached, disciplined football team that puts the team over the individual.
