Fictionally, anyways.

Patton Oswalt Delivers the Ultimate Star Wars Filibuster - Hollywood Prospectus Blog - Grantland

Please stop what you are doing and watch, in slack-jawed amazement and delight, as Patton Oswalt filibusters a Pawnee City Council vote with his fevered ideas for Star Wars: Episode VII in this very extended outtake from tomorrow night's Parks and Recreation double bill. What follows is eight minutes of improvisational wizardry that ends only when Oswalt nearly dies of dry mouth, having heroically reached the extreme limits of nerd-endurance by liquefying the minds of Star Wars purists with the taboo-obliterating suggestion of a grand merger with the Marvel universe.

[Disclosure: The Grantland, Star Wars, and Avengers franchises are all owned by Disney. NBC is now owned by Patton Oswalt, who will summarily install Chewbacca's severed head as president of programming, doubling the network's ratings overnight.]

That was outstanding. For anyone who doesn't watch that show, btw, you should.

The fact he improvised all of that is one of the best parts. good comedians are just good comedians. the fact he's a nerd adds to it. And her saying "Tony Stark is the first guy I knew who he was" right in the middle just made it feel halfway real haha great stuff.

If I casted as one of the extras in the audience, I could never keep a straight face. Oswalt is just a natural. Great improv.

I never thought much of Patton Oswalt, only having seen him on the celebrity roast circuit.

Until recently I never knew he could act or believed that anyone in Hollywood believed it either.

Then he stars showing up on a few shows including one of my favorites "Justified" as a semi-regular . Low and behold an actor has emerged.

Anyway the Improv was an instant classic.

His stand up is masterful ;check it out.

I would actually be okay if he truly was helping out with a new star wars script. He's obviously a die hard fan

Btw I don't hate the guy, I just thought he didn't fit Justified. I felt like I was watching a swimsuit competition, and all of a sudden Rosie O'Donnell walked out.

This. Patton's stand up is one of the few great ones left we have today. It's not Louis C.K. or anything (he's really by himself at this point, especially after that HBO special), but I'd put him in the tier right below.

Awesome eh?

I can't imagine that a kickstarter for this wouldn't make a million dollars at least. Would that be enough to fund it? hell no. But it'd be enough to make disney or a major corporation to take notice at least.
