I just saw this documentary about the theory that Paul died in 1966 and he was replaced by the British Intell. I had never heard about this before. this conspiracy is up there with JFK.

all the death referrences on the album cover and in the songs are pretty interesting. I must be the only guy in America who hasn't known about this before now.

"Those freaks was right when they said, you were dead. The one mistake you made was, in your head. How do you sleep?"

Was this the documentary that had a supposed taped "phone conversation" with George Harrison? He says that Paul has been dead, and yada yada ya.

I havent seen it.

yeah, supposedly, George recorded his last testimony before he died and it was sent to a production company. they listened to the tape and spent 5 years trying to verify if it was him, but they couldn't. they made a movie and used Georges confession as the narrator. it's interesting but it gets out there.

I bet it gets out there. What was your opinion of the documentary after you had seen it?

the referrences about the covers were pretty cool. I don't know why the beatles added the stuff they did. They must have been having a good laugh. I did find it interesting, that every cover always showed Paul differently than the rest of the band. The covers seemed to draw the attention to Paul.

the lyrics, the movie talked about, to could easily be taken out of context. the backwards masking they talk about has alway been suspect to me in the first place.

near the end, it really got wild. Paul was black mailed into marrying Linda, the CIA had John killed because he was about to talk. George believes he was attacked by the British Intel before he died. it was definetely entertaining.

I read the book about Paul dying and being replaced, it was entertaining. Nothing id take seriously, but its easy to make a good case when you cherry pick information.

Id recommend it.

Thanks for the recommend on the book. I havent read that one.

Paul always did little things to be different, like John said. It was just his way of rebelling I do believe. How does he look different on like Sgt. Pepper or Let It Be? Just curious...

the documentary said that it was a cardboard cut out of Paul and they other members were holding him up. it wasn't the real Paul dressed in blue. I don't believe it said anything about Let It Be.

A car wreck, the guy does a good job of crafting the tale, though it seems to be entirety in a parallel reality.

WTF? British Intelligence replaced Paul McCartney with somebody that looks and sounds just like him AND was able to repeatedly produce hit songs and continue to book tours? :birgits_giggle:

I'm a big fan of conspiracy theories. They have always interested me. Some are pretty far fetched, but some really make you think.

And McCartney isn't dead. Neither is Elvis.

Did it ever occur to anyone that he may have just had reconstructive surgery? The wreck where he supposedly died could have just put him in the hospital and maimed his face, which would be why he doesn't look the same.

I doubt British Intelligence helped cover this up.

Also, The Beatles knew about the supposed conspiracy and could have added the "clues" for a joke or for their hardcore fans. Just seems too far fetched to me.

I recommend reading The Walrus was Paul. The writer, instead of being a conspiracy theorist, simply researched each of the most elaborate Beatles Death myths, then comprised them. Very well done and entertaining.
