FOX Sports on MSN - COLLEGE BASKETBALL - Sources: Paulus may play football at Michigan

The 6-foot-1 Paulus, who was the Gatorade National Player of the Year as a standout quarterback at Christian Brothers Academy in New York, has one year of eligibility left for football after playing four years of basketball at Duke.

He watched Michigan practice Tuesday afternoon and could fit in with Rodriguez's spread offense. The Wolverines don't have a clear-cut starting quarterback, and Paulus could come in and play immediately.

I doubt he would come in and do anything. When is the last time he even played football? It's been a few years for sure.

He already graduated, so he can go anywhere without sitting out. We should contact him, I mean, he was the Gatorade National Player of the Year coming out of high school. Greg Paulus - Football Recruiting
I'm all about giving Crompton his shot, but if Paulus could come in and beat him and our other QBs out, that's their problem.

greg paulus going to michigan would be pointless, for everyone involved. sure they would boost their depth at qb but with tea bag paulus? sure he was a standout in high school but new york isn't known for it's outstanding football talent, like say florida or texas. no organized football in 4 years so what could he really accomplish in 1 year? would he try his infamous flop when a 325 pound DE is barreling down on him?

I've never heard of a 325 lbs DE, but I agree with everything else.

It looks like Coach Cut told him, "no thanks." He said that there was no way Paulus could compete for the starting QB job at Duke. He did offer a chance for him to try out for WR though.

The wonderful duo of Dave Hooker and Drew Edwards said this morning on the radio that it wouldn't hurt for Tennessee to give him a call. Said he could push for playing time if he came in and picked up the offense in the fall and that it wouldn't be that hard for him to do because our offense will be simple.

The guys on the Sports Animal never cease to amaze me.

how the hell does he have a year of football eligibility left when he exhausted 4 years of basketball eligibility? Does the NCAA enjoy making up ridiculous rules?

I guess the fact that their QB situation was in shambles last year can't hurt his chances. I don't think he will see any PT at Michigan, but if he did I wouldn't be completely shocked.

He was just on PTI and said that he's looking at several schools as well as the NFL.

Haven't you heard, I know more than the Packers.

Seriously, he hasn't played QB since high school, and now he is working out for a NFL team. Seems a little crazy to me.

what's so hard to believe about this? have you not seen our current trio of QBs? it's not going to get much worse for us at QB if i was playing.
