The reason I mentioned my age is because I see a lot of young people around me just standing but no hollering. I beg them to holler but many won't. If, at my age I can give my All, they can too. Go Vols!
You're from a different era.
Don't expect people to act like you.

Respectfully, I think he’s right. The younger generation needs to step up their game and maybe quit texting for a few minutes so they can yell for our team. When I was a student, the entire student section was always loud and they hardly ever sat down. It was always the other side - the country clubbers and older folks that were quiet. Sounds like a reversal of roles.

I can’t attend but love the attitude. It’s a football game-you stand and yell for 60 mins like the General taught us. 15 years of misery and we not only fill Neyland but make it the best atmosphere every fall Saturday. Give them hell for those of us at home. Unrelenting noise, false starts, illegal procedures, Rattler shook, Beamer knowing the end of his SEC head coaching career begins that night and Rocky Top playing all night long baby-LFG big orange nation!

I'm 19 and don't yell, but I'm not at the game, I'm watching on TV. If I were there I'd yell.
Maybe you should buy a whistle and sometimes blow that instead of yelling?

No reason the kids should NOT be yelling at a home game. You may have to give them a beer from the stash you brought into the stadium to loosen them up?

I am from a “different era” than OP. I fly up from Tampa after work most Fridays in the fall to yell my butt off in Neyland. I then fly back Sunday morning hoarse and back to work the next day. I do the same for most away games. Wouldn’t trade the requisite bag of Ricolas and Advil the next couple days for anything.

The “I Will Give My All for Tennessee” sign on my desk means something to me. I hope you and those from your “different era” find the same passion as those who you disdain. Life ain’t worth living without passion man.

One day you’ll realize we’re all fishing in the same waters and a rising tide rises all ships. Hope you find some peace in life.

Go Big Orange!

PS - He didn’t expect anything; he was just asking…

Times have changed-the young kids are all about their phones and even some adults. It is pretty sad.

The crowd noise is so valuable in a football game like this. PEOPLE JUST DO NOT REALIZE THAT CROWD NOISE CAN PROVIDE SO MANY PROBLEMS FOR THE OPPOSITION TEAM. IT IS WHAT HELPED US BEAT ALABAMA LAST YEAR IN NEYLAND. I THINK THEY ENDED UP WITH ABOUT 14 ILLEGAL MOTION PENALITIES !!!!! Communication is such a big part of football and many fans do not realize it. In my opinion it is worth at least 10 points or more in a single game. Yell scream and holler until you cannot talk. We owe lots to South Carolina for last years butt whipping !!!!!!

It will get worse with the addition of Wi-Fi, seat backs, less seats , “lounges”, better bathrooms. All of these things make life more comfortable and people less irritable, making Neyland less intimidating

I was at the Swamp this year and I can tell you with certainty the noise there was relentless all the way through the end of the 4th quarter and the main reason the Vols looked out of sync.

I'm about 6 weeks from being 61 years old. I will be there Saturday and like I always do, I will give my All for Tennessee. The last 2 years I couldn't talk good for about 3-4 days. I'm asking all my Vol friends to join me and give their All, whose with me?
You are a legend my friend.
