Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but does anyone else here think there's some legitimate concern about Kentucky trying to hire Bruce Pearl away from us? This is almost certainly going to be Tubby Smith's last season there (it's starting to look like he's going to go coach the NBA expansion Charlotte Bobcats... if not, he may well be run out of town on a rail, anyway), Pearl runs a similar system as UK's Personal Lord and Savior, Rick Pitino, and UK certainly has the resources to match or exceed any offer we could possibly make to lock Pearl up to a long-term contract.

Just some food for thought, but I would be shocked if this thought hasn't crossed the collective minds of the UK athletic department and its basketball boosters.

Im not worried about another school taking him one dy. I think Pearl is a college coach, he loves the kids and Kentucky already has a legacy as a basketball school. The fans and school have welcomed this man and made him feel at home. I think he wants to start his own legacy at this school and make it a basketball powerhouse that it can be. I see us signing him long term for major $$$$$$$$$. I think he wants to stay at Tennessee. I dont think this is a stepping stone.

Are we redoing Bruce's contract and adding more years and like an extra 200,000 bucks to it? I heard on the news he'd be one of the highest paid coaches in the SEC...and rightfully so
