I think the problem is the same as with all bowls... you just never know what you’re going to get with 4 weeks off. No reason not to play round 1 around December 15-20 and the final 2 weeks later. How many times have we seen playoffs where all the teams belonged?
This is a deep schlonging and a lot of people could see it coming.
Agree with everything you said but it’s not athleticism he has to have. You said it- it’s feel , feel the pressure and move. JG has zero feel, he would step into a sack 9 times out of 10 instead of moving awayWhat makes so many QBs effective is the number 1 reason Jg is so ineffective...heir ability to feel pressure and scramble around. Almost every single joe burrow big play comes after he’s had to mi e around in the pocket to buy time. Every huge play he’s had in this game would’ve likely resulted in a sack of Jg were the LSU qb. Unfortunately, we’re likely stuck with him again next year. I hope Harrison Bailey has the athleticism necessary to avoid pressure. You have to have that skill set to be successful in today’s game. Jb, tl, jf, jh....the list goes on.
If you're Jalen Hurts right now, you have to feel some type of way.
This dude left Bama to get an opportunity to to show he's a championship QB. Has an amazing year, but then has to face off against Joe Burrow who DID actually improve as a QB. And he did it IN THE SEC.
Burrow is looking the top overall pick, while Jalin is looking like he may need to switch positions to have a shot...crazy.
It’s reminiscent of our ‘95 and ‘96 offenses with Wuerffel and Spurrier.
But back then, defenses weren’t coached up all that well on spread offenses because they weren’t common.
This LSU offense is special.
Pretty good comparison. It’s reminiscent of our ‘95 and ‘96 offenses with Wuerffel and Spurrier.

This game is Exhibit A on why expanding the CFP field to 8 teams is a bad idea.
I disagree. OU would have faced the #5 team, which might have been a game.
8 teams. The P5 conference champs, and then the remaining 3 highest ranked teams, regardless of conference affiliation.
In any tournament, there are going to be lopsided games. It's a game of "any given Saturday", remember?
The main problem with 4 team playoffs it’s to exclusive. Bama and Georgia are better than OU , other teams probably too.I think the problem is the same as with all bowls... you just never know what you’re going to get with 4 weeks off.
