Peach Bowl Thread: #1 LSU (13-0) vs #4 Oklahoma (12-1) (ESPN 4:00 PM)

How many times have we seen playoffs where all the teams belonged?

This is a deep schlonging and a lot of people could see it coming.
I think the problem is the same as with all bowls... you just never know what you’re going to get with 4 weeks off. No reason not to play round 1 around December 15-20 and the final 2 weeks later.

What makes so many QBs effective is the number 1 reason Jg is so ineffective...heir ability to feel pressure and scramble around. Almost every single joe burrow big play comes after he’s had to mi e around in the pocket to buy time. Every huge play he’s had in this game would’ve likely resulted in a sack of Jg were the LSU qb. Unfortunately, we’re likely stuck with him again next year. I hope Harrison Bailey has the athleticism necessary to avoid pressure. You have to have that skill set to be successful in today’s game. Jb, tl, jf, jh....the list goes on.
Agree with everything you said but it’s not athleticism he has to have. You said it- it’s feel , feel the pressure and move. JG has zero feel, he would step into a sack 9 times out of 10 instead of moving away

If you're Jalen Hurts right now, you have to feel some type of way.

This dude left Bama to get an opportunity to to show he's a championship QB. Has an amazing year, but then has to face off against Joe Burrow who DID actually improve as a QB. And he did it IN THE SEC.

Burrow is looking the top overall pick, while Jalin is looking like he may need to switch positions to have a shot...crazy.

I am sure he does feel "some type of way" meaning pretty crappy imho. It's not very enjoyable to have your dirt hole violated by Ed Orgeron

And people want an 8 team playoff...

It's rare that the 4th team has a legit argument for a title shot

It’s called execution. Every team in CF could run this same offense and 110 of them wouldn’t look any better than they do now

110 of them also won't have Joe Burrow on their roster, you can execute all day but he's on a level I haven't seen in college. Hes been unreal.. perfect ball placement.

It’s reminiscent of our ‘95 and ‘96 offenses with Wuerffel and Spurrier.

But back then, defenses weren’t coached up all that well on spread offenses because they weren’t common.

This LSU offense is special.

Doesn't LSU have co-offensive coordinators? It's odd neither of them got a job in the pre-ESD coaching shuffle.

Pretty good comparison.

Spurrier was ahead of the game by 3 decades.

It's amazing to watch a very average QB a year ago turn in one of, if not the best seasons ever at QB.

This game is Exhibit A on why expanding the CFP field to 8 teams is a bad idea.

I disagree. OU would have faced the #5 team, which might have been a game.

8 teams. The P5 conference champs, and then the remaining 3 highest ranked teams, regardless of conference affiliation.

In any tournament, there are going to be lopsided games. It's a game of "any given Saturday", remember?

So your argument for 8 teams is based on this Oklahoma team facing a tough #5 ranked opponent before getting destroyed by LSU? Yeah I disagree.

Four teams is barely a compelling watch...eight teams would be worse.

The main problem with 4 team playoffs it’s to exclusive. Bama and Georgia are better than OU , other teams probably too.
Expand , eliminate the 4 week layoff, and teams like OU get eliminated before the final 4 and maybe you get better games at that stage.

BCS and the playoffs have ruined college football and the bowls. Liked it so much better when we had the mythical champions. I think there was more parity and all the other bowls meant so much more.

Oklahoma has come back from worse. However, I don't see LSU's offense stagnating like the way Baylor's did.

Why is Ensminger still calling plays? He should be headed home to be with his family. Burrows can call all the plays from here on out.
