I don't have a Scouts or Rivals sub. For the posted article, can anyone list the ten I would assume chism, smith, prince, williams, hopson, maze, hall, mcbee, tatum, and goins maybe?

Per Rob Lewis VolQuest article (http://tennessee.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1013771):

1- Maze (Goins)
2- Hopson (McBee)
3- Tatum/ Prince
4- Smith (Chism)
5- Chism (Hall/Williams)

Sounds like Chism will start the game at the 5, but will see most of his minutes at the 4. This means Chism and Tyler won't be on the floor together as often as last season. Pearl said Chism would get the first rotation at the 5, then Hall and Williams would alternate at the 5 until late in the half, when Chism would likely get another rotation at the 5.

Seems like having Tyler and Wayne on the court as the same time as much as possible would be ideal. Not sure if I'm going to like this...

I thought I read that Tyler would be playing some 3 as well, so you could see some Wayne 5/Tyler 4 or Wayne 4/Tyler 3 combos.

Without having seen much of the team in preseason, I like the 10 players in the rotation.

It will be a rarity to see Tyler at the 3 this season. Pearl said this months ago, and has not brought it up since. With the emergence of McBee at the 2, Tatum will now see minutes at the 3 along with Prince.

In the new Rivals article, Pearl says when Wayne is not playing the 5, he will back up Tyler at the 4.

There may be some shuffling once the season gets started, but this is Pearl's strategy as of right now.

I thought the same. Thought Tyler would play a lot more 3 this year but that doesn't seem like the case. I'm interested in seeing Hall develop into a nice F/C and also curious to see how much intensity Williams brings this year.

Yeah. You can bet that Tyler Smith will be on the floor. He'll move to the 3. Prince/Tatum will be the ones rotating to the bench.

Pretty sure my reasoning is acceptable. If Williams or Hall come in at the 5, Chism moves to the 4, Tyler moves to the 3, Hopson is more than likely staying on the court at the 2. McBee would be his backup, correct? I don't see Prince or Tatum playing the 2 considering neither of the two are even decent shooters (therefore they would come out of the game as I said above). The only other good option is that chism comes out, Smith stays at the 4, and Prince/Tatum stays at the 3. I was merely trying to agree that Chism and Tyler need to be on the floor at the same time and Smith playing the 3 is pretty much the only option, otherwise one or the other is coming out...

No, you said Tyler would move to the 3 and the combination of Tatum/Prince will see more bench time... which is false.

Bruce has already addressed the rotation, so scroll and read please.

Correct. There is no way that Tyler is going to be moving to the 3 for any extended period of time during a game.

May be the strategy now but I can't see how the two can't be on the floor at the same time. Seems like the best rotation. By the 10th game, the two will be playing together. One of the coach's jobs is to put the best five out there and I don't see how the best five are out there if the two of them don't play significant minutes together. The only time they should be split up is if one needs a breather...The only way they play together is Chism at the 5/Smith at the 4 or Chism at the 4/Smith at the 3. What other combination is there?

If you read this thread, you'd see these were my concerns also.

Bruce said we will see Tyler at the 4 and Wayne at the 4 and 5. Take it up with Bruce.

Which is the only time that either of them will not be in the game. Chism and Smith will be on the floor together the vast majority of the time. Chism will play 5; when Tyler needs a break, Chism could move to the 4 and bring in Williams or stay at 5 and bring in Hall; if Chism needs a break, you bring in Williams and leave in Smith. I'm not sure how this is such a problem. Two players can't constantly be on the floor at the same time.

How is this so hard? Both will play 30 minutes, so mathmatically, they will see a lot of time of the floor together.
