Q: How do you describe your relationship with Coach Pearl?

A: Well, it's fine. We talked today. He called me yesterday, he was begging me for tickets. I told him absolutely not. Then I called him this morning, I told him, he's got fifty, we're going to put them as high as we can put them. I'm just kidding. Obviously, I didn't say that. We talked, he was looking for tickets, and our athletic director took care of him. Peyton Manning is coming in and wanted to come to the game. So I said I don't have them, but I called the AD and I think they got it worked out. We're in the same state, both of us have things going pretty good at both schools but you have to understand this Tom, they're closer to Washington D.C. than they are Memphis, Tennessee. You have to know that. They are so far from us and what we do here I mean it's incredible. We're an hour from the University of Mississippi. We're so far from them. It's not as though they're 50 miles away from us. They're closer to Washington D.C. than they are Memphis, Tennessee.

So, yeah, the AD got tickets for Bruce, not Cal.

Thank goodness Cach Cal isn't teaching Geography, as Washington, DC is farther from Knoxville than Memphis.

You have to know that....:eek:lol:

As yor article states he asked CAL not the AD , so without the call to cal , he would have no tickets , spin it any way you want to hawaiivol ! Just realize everyone doesn't look at everything as a negative the way you seem to . I'm sure Pearl will repay the favor . :whatever:

as your post states, Cal got him the tickets, which he didn't, only forwarded Bruce to the AD. My quoted article clarifies that, no spin there.

I'm sorry Cal being patently wrong in stating travel distances is being negative in your eyes. The truth sometimes hurts huh?

Ktown to DC=486
Ktown to Memphis=391

Per mapquest. But his point is on that there is a big distance between the 2 schools.

geography...what a bitch.

ARkansas, Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss. St., Alabama, Louisville and Southern Mississippi are all closer to UofM than Tennessee is.

As crazy as it seems, I think Auburn, Ga Tech and LSU are all about the same distance as from Memphis as Knoxville.
