Like the announcer mentioned during the game ---- “How will the SEC react to Pearl-ball?” I think we will have a very good SEC record this year due to the tempo that Pearl plays.

The full court pressing will create a lot of problems with most SEC teams. Factor that with some continued solid 3PT. shooting and it's good to be a Vol!

Yeah I'm curious as well to see how UT finishes the season..the lack of inside presence is the only ingredient UT seems to be missing so far. Knocking down those 3's will only mask that for so long..trust me I've seen it for yrs at UF..live by the 3, die by the 3.

Although if I'm a Vol fan I'd be very pleased..looks like you've found a good coach so far!

i cant beleive no one else has used it other than kentucky. they have been successful with it for years now.

UF pressed during their Final Four run in 2000 but hasn't been real effective since though.

Exactly...balance is the key. Gotta have a strong inside game to take the pressure off the 3 pt shooters.

Exactly right. Live and die by the 3. They couldn't miss against the horns. Man was it nice to watch. Seemed like they were almost shooting from half court sometimes.

Somebody mentioned that Kentucky had pressed and shot the 3 for years now, but neither is a staple of Tubby-Ball. It was definitely a mark of Pitino's game.

Tubby is more about getting the ball inside whether by pass or dribble penetration, and playing solid half-court defense.

The frenetic pace requires, REQUIRES depth, because you just can't play kids for 40 minutes with that sort of style, unless they're really in phenomenal condition.

Tennesse does have an inside presence with Wingate and Patterson, but the problem with this team is no depth in the post positions. I agree, If they keep hitting 3's like they have been then depth at the post won't be that big of a problem. I like what Pearl has done so far with the players he has, once he gets his recruits on board it should be even better.

The thing is that Pearl Ball is creating excitement. ESPuke is talking about UT men's roundball for a change. We have a solid recruiting class coming in next year. Fans will be coming to the games. We may have a chance to make the big dance at season's end. This has not happened in a few years.

As a Bama fan and a UAB student, I have said all along the SEC teams will not be able to adjust to the full court press very well. ( i.e. UAB vs Kentucky, UAB vs. LSU, and Bama vs Wis.- Milwalkee) The one thing these schools did to the SEC was throw them off their game by using the FCP.... However, I think the SEC will adjust and you could see a more up-tempo type game in the SEC eventually
