Explain that to me. Did he do good? Does he give US hope? I am guessing that was a typo.

I went to the game last night. Great energy and exciting play from one end of the court to the other and from buzzer to buzzer! Pearl is as much fun to watch as the players. He runs and up and down the court as much as the team does and is always barking. They only expected about 5000 to show up last night and over 10,000 came. The new student section behind the south goal looked to be a real success for an exhibition game. It looked like an SEC game the way the student section was cheering. Give Bruce a few more prized recruits and another two years and they may be having tractor pulls in Neyland Stadium. It's great to see a coach pursuing success with energy!

Lets just hope this isnt a stepping stone in his career. I hope he stays and builds a great program. We ahve all of the tools to be a great program, we just need the right captain to sail our ship.

The reports about Pearl were very positive on the The Sports Animal. Geez! I remember the days of Coach Ray Mears.

The gurus predict TN will not do much better than .500 this year but that's fine with me. Just watching one game and the effort the team and Pearl put forth made me proud to be a Vol. Pearl is going to make the long winter alot of fun win or lose.

I am with you TBALLVOL. I enjoyed the game last night. Don't get me wrong, I thought we looked pretty bad but for the first time in a long time I could see a system being run on offense and defense. The players all seemed to look to Pearl throughout the game to guide them. I think he has earned their respect and they are going to be willing to learn. A .500 record with our schedule and roster would be a HUGE success in my book. I think by the end of the year we will be able to look back and see how much some of these players improved throughout the year.

Great point freak. It's been a long time since we could see actual player improvement during the season. I think he seems like the type of coach that will get everything out of the talent he has. I only wish I got to see more games.
