Good. I'm glad to see Coach Pearl isn't going to bow to the whims of the knee jerk reactionaries when imposing discipline.

I agree. Every case has to be looked at on its own and you have to defer to the coach's judgement since that's part of what he was hired for.

I agree. But kudos to Passley too. It sounds like he did the things he needed to do in order to make such a decision available to Pearl...

Pearl must know more about the situation to make that statement! I hope he's not taking a defense lawyer's spin! Unless Smith is going to say it was his, I will wait until the facts come out.

is it possible Coach Pearl is being a little more forgiving with Passley in order to keep from jeopardizing the commitment from his younger brother?

Coach probably knows the kid and his family both pretty well since he has recruited both brothers. It's one thing to make a hasty decision, it's another when you have a little bit of back ground to go on.

It was Smith's car, Smith was driving, and the cocaine was found on the driver's side. And, you can't really say that Passley put himself in a bad situation by being out with Smith, because they are both on the team. So, that leaves Passley's position of marijuana. Pearl has set a precedent that one marijuana incident does not get you kicked off. My guess is that if Passley ever fails/misses a drug test or is caught with marijuana again, he will be kicked off.

So, WHAT IF, Smith said it was Passley's? Or IF he said that they spilt it? I AM NOT SAYING THAT IS THE CASE! But I have seen brothers turn on brothers and mothers turn on sons to get a better deal. You got to let it play out. But Pearl has to know more to stick his neck that far out and if he does, he should of kept quite until after the proceedings. There is nothing wrong with getting the info but could give the wrong perception.

lol if Coach Fulmer had doen the samething people would have been all over him, but for the godly Bruce Pearl, you may not question his judgement.

I don't have a problem with Pearl sticking his neck out if he does indeed know more. He is not a party to the case. If, that is, if, Pearl has all of the facts, then I don't care what happens in court in regards to who is kicked off, and I just finished law school. I may be biased though, because I am a huge fan of Pearl.

Look unless you know more about the situation than Coach Pearl than let him handle it... I mean neither you or I know anything more than has been reported.... I mean unless you know more than Coach Pearl if so please call Him and Advise Him... Each case has to be handled accordingly and I know he will do what is best for the Program and for the young man!!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Now I wonder who we will take in the next class? Hickson is a lock for priority. This leaves 1 scholly. Will it go to Harris or Tatum?

No, actually, you're wrong. People got all over Coach Fulmer when he let a player stay on the team who had broken four bones in a person's face.

May be but I kinda doubt it. I suspect if there is any leverage from Passley it is due to Pearl's relationship with the family. At this point there is no doubt Pearl can recruit and top notch prospects are giving us a serious look. Passley's brother could certainly be replaced on our shopping list without as much as breaking a sweat. After Pearl's handling of Jemere Hendrix, I suspect he is weighing the facts and will do the right thing.

All Pearl would say, about the charges being dropped or even expunged from his record after a year of good behavior, was that this was another hurdle that Passley had to clear but he still wasn't back on the team. That was in the Chattanooga paper today.

I would be shocked if Passley isn't back on the team come practice time, that is unless there is another incident before then.
