Per Wes Rucker:

Honestly, this seems like a normal #Vols practice, just with four fewer bodies. Pearl keeps talking about conditioning w/ smaller rotation.
Bruce Pearl said some of the 4 arrested hoops #Vols could be dismissed. "We're not going to underreact or overreact," he said.

Pearl said he hoped to have more info by early next week. Said he will take past actions, good or bad, in determining punishments.

Pearl said the #Vols borrowed the rental car from a friend, and he didn't anticipate any compliance issues.

Pearl said he texted Pat Summitt and apologized for any damage caused to #Vols and #LadyVols hoops image

Pearl said he is in the process of calling the parents of every player and signee to apologize, too. Almost finished with it, he said.

If Melvin Goins is gone, Pearl said backup PG options are JP Prince and walk-on (former SoIllinois starter) Josh Bone.

Great to hear about the compliance issues (or lack thereof). Good to hear he's touching all bases. I'm not jumping up and down to see JP or Bone at point, but I doubt it would yield many more turnovers than Goins being in.

So what will be the starting lineup for Charlotte?

My guess for rotation:
Maze/Prince
Hopson/McBee
Prince/Bone (small like with JaJuan, plus Bone=great defender)
Chism/Woolridge
Hall/Chism

Pearl would be next option in post, if we get in foul trouble.

All of the above is okay...except Stevie P. running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

This may be a blessing in disguise in the long run. Always thought Hall is a better option for us that williams, more athletic and better bball iq.

Prince, as much as most Vols dislike his style, when he's on, he makes the whole team better and no one can guard him one on one. He will have the biggest factor determining the success of the team.

I bet that three of the four are back for the Kansas game.

I feel bad for Bruce. A small part of this is his fault but those players were all 21+ and were definitely making their own decision. I was just happy to hear Chism wasn't involved.

It wouldn't surprise me that two may be kicked off the the team. I believe Bruce may see this as an opportunity to free up scholarship as well.

Man I miss Negedu, he was one of my favorite, always gave 110% when he's on the floor. It's such a shame that he can't play, while others take things for granted.

Since the charges are now called misdemeanors then probably just suspensions for all.

However, I think they all should be kicked off the team. We don't need these type players hanging around. I mean they are on drugs at the least. Do we all want to have players that are stoned when playing?

Tatum,Williams,& Tyler all looked like they have been stoned/messed up when on the floor. Tyler looks & acts totally different this season. I guess he's been toking on too many buds.

Wonder when these guys were last drug tested? That has crossed my mind too. Did they just start the pot on the day of getting caught? I don't think so! They've been playing & looking like stoned players all year long.

My guess is that Smith and Tatum survive and that Williams and Goins are dismissed from the team.

What is your basis for that claim? I mean we have all with pretty much the same charges now. How would Williams & Goins be the ones singled out? Or, is this just a gut feeling?

Issue will be ownership of the guns. If some third party takes responsibility for ownership of the guns, then they all may get reinstated. The pot charge, while disconcerning, is not going to, in and of itself, get them the boot. All will likely be randomly drug tested the remainder of the year.
How much pot was involved? All I have read is it said a plastic bag. The fact that it was a misdemeanor charge means it was less than a half ounce. But how much less?

in the end the punishment needs to fit the crime.

it's easy for us to yell that they need to be kicked off the team, out of school, and back to the 'hood. I don't know how many '2nd chances' these 4 have gotten before. If they get booted, they will most likely end in jail or dead.

IF they are kept around, I'd like to see PUBLIC punishment. Something that will maybe embarrass them almost as much as they've embarrassed us -the fans and the University. In addition to being basically grounded under house arrest (class, practice, library, and room) and running puke drills every day after practice (possibly shooting 100 FT's until they can hit 90), maybe they can pick up trash in TBA after every home game. Some small token to "repay" the school that has invested so much in them. I really want to see the kids succeed and have a good, normal life after college. live the American Dream. They just don't seem to care - and that may take some "tough parenting" from Big Daddy Bruce.

if they've already used up their 2nd chances, if the facts bear out a bigger crime (like they owned the guns, gang members, drug deal, etc), then they will reap what they sowed and be gone.

John Wall and UK are going to embarass them, I guess for these 4 we can get Mr Cousins to lay the elbow/forearm smash to their skulls.
