the coach is for the Vols basketball needs to recruit better players. I do not believe Pearl will recruit the one and done kid. But that has to change with him or who ever the next coach is. After Chism left this team has no leader. Kentucky does ok with one and done guys.

Kentucky advanced exactly as far as UT did last year with the best one year players they will ever have in their program.

Having an occasional one and done is ok, but I don't care for it. It doesn't lead to any continuity with the program and recruiting those guys usually means you have resort to sleazeball tactics to get them. Especially for a guy like Calipari

Do you want leaders like Chism that put in 4 years and earned the respect, or one and done guys that come in and are gone in the blink of an eye?

Am I the only one who doesn't believe that Tobias Harris is ready for the pros??? I believe he is too slow and deliberate with his moves for the most part, has limited dependable range, and although strong could stand to be a whole lot stronger if he plans to play the post in the NBA. I love the kid and love watching him play, but he played pretty average, at times even poorly, in several games (I know he was hurt in Lexington, but still). Although he is great for a freshman I certainly would not consider him even one of the best 25-30 players in the college game right now. Enlighten me on what I'm missing besides is terrific upside.

While all of your points are valid. The NBA is the one association that is willing to gamble on a future by way of kids upside.

Pearl has failed to recruit players that fit his system. He took shortcuts to get highly rated players to come to Tennessee. This has backfired both on the court and off the court.

Yep. He also got caught up in star ratings and getting a top 5 rated class for the first time at UT rather than evaluating correctly.

Tennessee has 2 possible 1st round picks? I have a hard time believing that. Hopson can't consistently play in SEC much less in the NBA as a 1st round pick. Harris has the matador defense down pretty good, but he is not polished enough for a NBA team to waste 1 of its 2 draft picks on.

Both will be back next year. Just hoping that next year both develop more.

I was laughing so hard I misspelled be (bu) in title.

Agreed. I hope he really is that good. I just can't see him being a top 2 round pick with all the in U.S. and overseas competition. I really think he needs another year, and selfishly, I hope he takes another to prepare!
