Man, I love to see the freshmen step up. We are really going to need these guys...not to mention what they could do for future recruiting.

only the people who dont follow tennessee closely think losing wingate is going to really hurt us. he couldnt catch, couldnt run the floor and never rebounded. he was the shortest 6'10" basketball player i have ever seen.

these guys are doing great for the little time they had to prepare....we will have to see how they stack up against a top tier opponent though

well, this will tell us a lot about pearl in terms of developing talent if he gets to keep them for a while.

He would get pushed around by guys that were 6'6.

I bet Dane Bradshaw owned him in inter-squads because he's physical. Wingate was the biggest player I've seen that wasn't agressive.

See Roth, Doug.

I looked him up. I was 5 years old when he was a senior at Tennessee, and if you didn't know he lasted 42 games in the NBA.

Therefore, Major Wingate is the biggest unagressive guy I have personally wittnessed playing basketball.

Speaking of personally wittness anyone remeber when the Bulls came to Knoxville for a preseason game against the Washington Bullets???? Man that was maybe my first Sports memory ever. I actually saw Jordan live, even if it was a meaningless game.

Plus . . . Wingate never stepped out, hit a 3 and gave the opposing crowd a one finger salute on the way back down the court the way Roth did at LSU one Saturday afternoon.
