Looks to me as if Tressell is gonna get thru this and our coach may lose his job. If Pearl does get the hammer and Tressell does not something needs to happen. It would be a total joke for the Ncaa. What's ur take on both situations?

What makes you think Tressell is going to get through this. In what relevant way is his position stronger than Pearl's was in October?

Unless you know something that the rest of us don’t, the investigation into Tressel is early. It is too soon to tell. The investigation into Pearl is in its final stages.

Please share.

Oh, look. Another one of these threads.

On a serious note, I severely doubt that OSU will get off easy for this.

Just my opinion.

No relevance jus Pearls situation was all over the news and espn. News flash they rarely mention the situation anymore and jus say he increased hi own suspension to five games. The Ncaa shoulda declared the players ineligibe from day one knowing 100% for certain that they had received improper benefits. Jus look at the AJ Green situation. He didn get to wait until the following season.

The nail in Pearl's coffin was the fact he went as far as to ask a recruit's parent to help in the cover up. No doubt Tressel deserves a similar fate as he's done this in the past also. Just seems like OSU is willing to yield its power to try to influence any NCAA sanctions. And to me that's the biggest difference between the two.

Yielding its power.. Well in their eyes wrong is wrong is it not? Maybe their AD is twice the AD as ours and pull a few strings. If this happens the NCAA is a joke

Well, he does have a National Championship trophy.

And an AD who is much tighter with the NCAA (Gene Smith chairs the chairman of the Selection Comitteee for the Men's Basketball Tournament).

This shouldn matter period.... am I not right? Maybe their is a lot more he hasn been forthcoming about? I'm jus saying if We and Peal are hit hard they should get similar punishment even though chances are they won't.

I completely agree it should not matter, but the fact is if any school in the SEC had the same situation as OSU's tattoo transgressions prior to a bowl game our players would've been ruled immediately ineligible. If they decided to return for the senior years the suspension would have carried over. Why do you think it was different for OSU? The AD, OSU President, and Big 10 Commish all went to bat for the players and the coach. Slive doesn't seem like he'd do that for us, so I don't expect the outcomes to be the same.

It should not matter, but Mark Emmert is cleary too incompetent to make sure it doesn't.

Things were inconsistent and arbitrary with the NCAA before he took over. Now its inconsistent and arbitrary and riddled with bias.

Why do you think Tressel took the extra 3 game suspension? The heat is getting hotter and will continue.

I really think those in Columbus are nervous about this...why else would Tressel add 3 more games to his suspension? I would love to see OSU get s hammered by the 'AA, just don't see it happening.

I hope Hammy is gone as well..... I say let Summitt step in and be the AD or atleast let her help with the process of finding the one for the job. Our athletics has been shady since he took over other than the womens bball which she obviously is the best in the country regardless of sport.
