Fans at NC State have been divided the last 10 years under Herb Sendek. Large part of the base has not embraced Sendek with his style, personality, and lack of success against Duke and UNC. They have lost 80 percent of its games against the big 2. Being Herb's best NC State team against Roy Williams less talented team he has ever coached and losing by an avg of 18.5 in both contests has state fans boiling.

Lets hope Pearl signs a long term deal at UT. I am sure he will be asked to interview at Indiana unless Alford. Many State fans are hoping Sendek would take the Iowa or Indiana job and get Pearl or Mark Self at State.

NCSU fans are the biggest cry babies i've ever heard....they have a serious self esteem problem. Living in Charlotte, when NCSU plays either Duke or UNC in any sport, you ought to hear 'em.

It's really kind of pathetic. I would feel sorry for them, but i just don't care enough. Sendec has split that whole fan base....so has Chuck Amato...

they can't stand the fact that they are 2nd tier....hell, UNC has beaten them in football 4 straight years, just adding to the mental anguish....

This rumor is grasping at straws...nothing more.

Understand i am too very happy for the great UF victory. It was a great victory. Im on tobacco road right now and as long as ut keeps getting these victories from their rivals, these rabid state fans will continue to salivate out of their mouths for BP. I just want BP signed up long term b/c these nc state fans are vicious people. I want them shut up so their wont be any pearl talk.

BP will get signed up...trust me. there's no way MH is going to let this guy go....it would take a mountain of money that we couldn't match (not wouldn't) to get him to leave...plus i truly believe Pearl is pretty impressed with what has happened in knoxville this year concerning men's bball.....he's a god right now...why would you want to leave that?

This is not Sendek's best team, no Julius Hodge. I don't know if you mean Mark Few or Bill Self, but you can tell the Wolfpackites that they are the number 3 team in their metro area and have no shot of hiring Pearl, Few, or Self. Sendek is as good as it will get for them.

I'll agree that missing hodge has hurt, but it is widely agreed upon that this year's NCSU team is definitely the best team he's had, at least from what the prognosticators here in ACC country have been saying, and continue to say, despite the loss to UNC....

If Bruce takes no interviews for any of these openings coming up we will know if he is serious about staying at TN. If he does interview, I think the Vol Nation would see him as unfaithful, and I don't think he could ever regain their trust again. If he is serious about his relationship with Tennessee, he will hold up his ring finger and tell all the babes he is married.

They're delusional. Either of the last two NC State teams would annihilate this group. Now, the argument can be made that, relative to the rest of the league, they're better positioned than ever. They should be third, Duke and BC are better.

no matter how well NC state does they will always be in at least 3 place in their own city in the minds of most onlookers...that's gotta be a sore spot for the fans.

that's probably true...most of the predictions before the season had NCSU finishing 2nd behind Duke. No one expected UNC to be as good as they are....

I just don't see why anyone would have expected this team to be that good. Hodge, and even Marcus Melvin, are better than anyone on the current NCSU roster. They didn't really believe Tony Bethel and Atsur were the answer did they?

i think they put a lot on that emtivol kid....and your point on the ACC being a bit down this year, prompted those high expectations.

seriously though, the folks around here really thought the Pack would be runner up to Duke this year....MD was/is down, UNC was too young to be a factor, BC would probably be 3rd, and the rest was a crap shoot, at least in pre season...

Evtimov and Bennerman are good players, and I would agree they could have realistically considered finishing 2nd in the ACC, but if they thought they would make any national noise they're divorced from reality.

and they found that out last night....getting swept by UNC this year, was not in the plan...and losing to Seton Hall was defintely not in the plan....

I don't know if you could blame him for checking out all the opportunities out there. He's not been at UT long enough to be hardcore orange blooded loyal to the university yet. He is a hot commodity right now and if I were in his shoes, I'd get the best deal I could get while I could. I think it's up to the University to decide if they want a BB program that is a year in- year-out national contender. If they are serious and want to keep him, pay the man before somebody else does. IMO it would only be a matter of $$$. God, look at the arena he has at UT and look at the conference he's coaching in. As for Volnation, just remember Dook's Coach K interviewed with the pros a few years back and when he tuned them down, the Dookies went wild with joy and no trust was lost. I know, we're not Dook, but let's be realistic. This is a capitalist society.
