The Huskers are getting killed, the Jawja Bulldogs had a lead in the 3rd quarter and had a chance to win it at the end, Texas got beat pretty soundly.

Given the storied history of these schools and expectations of their fanbases, is there any chance these schools pull the plug on any of these guys?

Why in the world would anybody think Richt would be about to get fired? He basically had his team less than five yards away from a National Championship today.

FYP

A couple of the Dawg fans on here a couple days ago said it was a must win for him. What big games has he won? he always underachieves.

there's no way he'd get fired after that performance.. they squeaked out against freakin Kentucky but they wait to fire him after he's a play away from an MNC? nope

and they would have beat ND pretty easily I'd say, Bama is going to go in dry

No way Richt is getting fired.

Agree; however, the fact that UGA ought to have had at least two, if not three chances, from the 8 yard line to win the game, yet blew it on one play because they decided against spiking the ball, is a serious indictment against Richt.

5x in 12 years playing for the sec, winning two isn't underachieving. Can u imagine if we hire a coach that takes us to 5 Seccg in the next 12 years? Would u say he underachieved?

We once had a coach who took UT to 6 SECCG in 16 years, winning 2 of them (plus a National Title). Less than a year after his final SECCG appearance, he was shown the door.

Richt does not even have a National Title to point to; and, were it not for his boneheaded clock management at the end of that game, UGA is headed off to play ND for the title.

Richt will not be fired this offseason, however, if UGA stumbles even a bit next season, Richt is gone.

I'd gladly take Richt. I know he makes some mistakes out there against top opponents, but we're in a bad way and he would improve our program.
