Lord knows Ive been vocal about Not expecting much from Pember but he deserves credit today. He was huge in the run from down 39-32 to up 51-44.

I did think Barnes left him in a hair long as he gave up 3 straight scores at the end of his time in but none the less great contribution today

hats off

He’s a very situational player right now because a lot of other teams have way more athletic players and we play him as a 3. I’m hoping his footwork improves a little so he can get more time. He plays a great and complete 3 and D type game when the guy across from him isn’t quick.

It's nice to see a big that can hit a perimeter shot. Fulk open so many times but will not even attempt a shot. Pember has upside, needs to get much stronger.

He is not a bad athlete for his size but that doesn't mean he needs to be isolated with a 6-4 guard on the perimeter. I think his fresh legs allowed it for a few minutes. Barnes left him out there just a little too long. If Barnes didn't play him we would have lost however.

He couldn’t guard 5. Coach recognized that and adjusted. He will be special but his D needs work.

It was as if South Carolina didn’t know he was in the game until those last three drives and scores he gave up. Teams should attack him off the dribble as soon as he comes in. Glad they didn’t today

Vescovi and JJJ were in foul trouble early in the 2nd half. Barnes recognized that it was going to be an issue and JJ and Gaines didn't add much. CRB put Pember in early rather than throw him in when he absolutely had to.

Pember needs to get stronger and play the 4 next year. A really tough match up for him guarding the 3 as that position can be the most athletic on the team. Still, we don't win today without his contributions.

You can't help but like him, but he has yet to guard anyone - he has to get quicker - much much quicker on D. I think SC went at him 4 times in a row, whoever he was guarding, and they scored 4 times in a row. Most if not all were layups. It was awful.

I see it the opposite. In 10 minutes he committed 2 fouls, made 1 shot and 2ft, had at least one key turnover and was so bad defensively that South Carolina got back in the game on blow by layups because he couldn't stay remotely in front of the person he was guarding. He's way too slow to guard the perimeter and way too skinny to guard the post.

We are probably best off if he doesn't see the floor unless it's garbage time.

We need to get some milkshakes into Gaines

We were losing by seven when he came into the game and we went ahead while he was playing, so I don't see that.

Kids going to turn into a great stretch 4 in my opinion, just going to take a couple of years.
He’s not ready for full time SEC competition just yet and I think Barnes knows this, but just doesn’t have any better options this year.

Pember looked pretty good today.

Also I loved his willingness and ability to drive with the ball.......something we fail to see from Tennessee’s “big’s.”
Yeah, in his limited minutes he has taken 2-3 very strong attacks on the basket. There's a good chance he's gonna posterize some poor soul one of these games and I'm gonna rewind and watch the bench about 10 times.
