I know this is old, but I am trying to remember the call that the zebras made against the UT defense prior to the snap in the UAB game. Something about movement that confused the offense or something?

Anyone remember?

Yeah, you can't do that.

And I have always wondered why.

The fans can scream obscenities, the coaches can scream from the sidelines, the waterboy can spit on the refs, but the linebacker can't grunt out a little phony cadence.

That just stinks.

Olinemen should be disciplined enough to know the difference between the voice of their QB and the voice of Jesse Mahelona.

The offenses get all the breaks. Bummer!

Yeah, it was a strange description that the ref gave, but it amounted to someone up front yelled something that the refs interpreted as simulating a snap count trying to get the offense to jump/

Ah, now see I understand the not being able to simulate the snap count (I have at least heard of that one... ) But the way the ref described it was freaky.

The way I understand it is that the defense can have calls to shift their guys like "Go", or "Hut". However, they cannot be similar to the offense.

Not the first time we have been accused of it, Its not coached just something you dont wanna get caught for on a 3rd and short etc.
