Penn St to have Joe Paterno memorial

I was 100% opposed to the NCAA claiming it had the authority to punish Penn State for the Sandusky scandal. However, Penn State's continued deification of a man who passively allowed the rape of children on his watch makes me think twice about my stance.

I would have no problem with the NCAA vacating every one of Paterno's wins starting with when he was first notified of the rape of children by Sandusky.

They did that (at least they did going back to the 2001 allegation), but then they gave them back. That was the one penalty I thought should remain.

Celebrate the players. That's totally appropriate. But don't lump that negligent POS in with them.

Leave it to the NCAA to make the correct initial decision and then reverse it.

Wait so they proved that he knew about it? I was in high school when all this went down so I didn't pay much attention to the news.

Yes, it was brought to Paterno's attention long before the public ever found out about it.
