It will be a pretty good game. State struggled with Akron, my Irish struggled with Calvin Johnson. Good thing PSU does not have a WR like Johnson...

I thought that big-time blue chipper they picked up was a good WR? How'd he pan out so far?

Their three starting WRs are 5'10", 5'10", and 6'. The freshman, Chris Bell, is only 6'2" and might be great in the future. For now, he is not someone ND needs to worry about.

Also, Calvin Johnson caught a lot of balls in which he was completely covered. However, he was covered by DBs that were 5'11". He just went up and got the ball.

While Penn State's WRs are shorter than optimum, they are amazing. Derrick Williams was the NUMBER ONE high school senior in 2004. UT was on his list. He's a SO now. He's good, going to be great. Deon Butler is also a SO, and was an Honorable Mention B10 player last season. And Jordon Norwood is also very good. He's only a SO, too. So, Penn State, IMO, has a more difficult passing game to stop. None of them are as good as Calvin Johnson RIGHT NOW, but 3 very very good targets are more difficult to stop than 1 GREAT one.

Penn State is a 9 point dog, and I might jump on that ASAP.

I know at some point skill comes into it, and Notre Dame looks outmatched on both sides of the ball by JoePa's squad... But does anybody else think Quinn is going to light up the scoreboard after playing a terrible game against Georgia Tech?

What is the scouting report on Penn State's pass rush?

I hate the Irish, but I don't see a Weiss offense struggling 2 weeks in a row. I see ND winning.

All I know is that Quinn, Walker, Samardizja, and McKnight are more than ticked off with their performance against GT. I expect Notre Dame's offense to hang at least 30 points on the scoreboard against State College. The question is, will JoePa's squad hang more?

Probably. If their OL and QB play is decent, they should be able to pass unhindered by ND's secondary.

I do not believe the Penn State receiving corps has the size to light up NDs secondary. They have speed, however, nobody has ever accused NDs secondary of being slow...

I wish Penn State would win this game, and I want to pick them so bad... but I can't. Can't imagine Notre Dame will have another sorry offensive showing despite how good Georgia Tech's defense may be.

PSU will challenge the Irish and Derek Williams is solid. Morelli's reaction to big time CFB will be a big key in South Bend. though i think ND wins, but i'll be pulling for PSU.

When forced to pick between the Pope and the Big Ten one has entered into a no win situation.

If only the game was in Happy Valley.
However incorrect it may be... I had to get this pic in here somehow.
