This is directed to everyone who lives in Atlanta...

I need to find a very nice restaurant near the Perimeter Mall.
I am looking for a restaurant where you can expect to pay roughly $50 a person. I don't want a chain like Ruth's Chris or the like.

We are having our fancy dinner in Atlanta for one of the 2 trips where the band stays in Atlanta (Auburn and Georgia). Our section always has a very high class meal (guys in suits and girls in sunday best). I am in charge of picking the restaurant, and I thought the best people to check with would be people on here from Atlanta.

Thanks guys, and I really hope you can help.

OOH I will answer this one, I work next to Perimeter mall... We have the usual Maggianos, Cheesecake Factory, Ted's Montana Grill etc... You are not going to really find super fancy near Perimeter but overall solid resturants

if you want fancy dinner my favorites are Bones, Chops/Lobster Bar, Rays on the River. Bones and Chops/Lobster Bar are in Buckhead about 5 miles south of perimeter mall a quick trip down 400. Rays on the river is 5 miles east on 285 of perimeter on the Chattahoocie river.

Now nicer than maggianos but near Perimeter would be Seasons 52, McCormick and Schmiks, and J Alexanders to name a few...

Overall if you can travel a little ways, Bones or Rays on the river will meet your "Sundays Best/$50 a plate" needs. Bones is the second best steak house (behind Peter Lugers in NYC) in the country IMO and the best steak in ATL. Rays on the river, I just ate there two weeks ago and it is amazingly good with a great view. Chops/Lobster bar is the place where you may run into a celebrity. My favorites in ATL are in that order, trust me you cant go wrong with any of these places

How many are in the Band?? This isnt the "pride of the southland" is it??

I'd go to either Bones or Fogo de Chao. They're both on Piedmont I think.

Well, yeah it is. But this is simply for my section, so there'll be roughly 30-40 of us.

Thanks so much to everyone. I asked around at other places too, and I came up with 4 to choose from.
For American food, I went with Wildfire
For Seafood, I went with Atlantic Seafood Co.
For Italian, I went with La Grotta
For Brazilian, I went with Fire of Brazil

After checking with everyone, we pretty much decided on Fire of Brazil.
Of the 4 choices, what do ya'll recommend?

Bones... sorry call me old fashioned but that bone in Filet is da bomb

actually La Grotta is good but slipped my mind... Not too familiar with the others I would love to know how Fire of Brazil is... let me know!

Wildfire has private dining rooms for a party your size. Also, Jamal Lewis eats there alot when he is in town.

Go Vols!

You are not going to get a meal worthy of that price in the mall-and-strip-mall cauldron of the Perimeter. If you're sold on Brazilian, come down to Fogo de Chao. Better yet, go over to Bacchanalia. Best restaurant in Atlanta.

Yeah, I know . . . but I figure if I can drive from Macon, he ought to be able to make it from the Perimeter to Buckhead.:)

In that case. I suggest The Tavern at Phipps Plaza. You will not be let down. I suggest a Friday or Saturday night.

Well...We'd have to walk. We are coming in 7ish busses for 300 people. We don't just have a car to drive...

Well...Things have changed. We still have that set, but I am now in need of finding a really fancy place for my girlfriend and I for the Auburn trip. We are staying downtown for this one. Any ideas for nice places downtown? As of now, I'm not sure of the exact location. I can get that info out tomorrow.

Fogo is the best restaurant I've ever been to. If you are a carnivore, it doesn't get any better than this.

At the top of the Westin Hotel (tallest hotel in western hemisphere) is a resturant called the Sun Dial. Good food and an AMAZING view

Sun Dial Restaurant Bar and View

Oh yea... see you at the Auburn game, I will be wearing Orange
