High school kid elected Mayor in a town called Hillsdale. Population 8,200. Have they all lost thier minds?? This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard.

Macon needs to get some industry. It is becoming a craphole.

Macon has absolutely nothing to draw outside interest.

No tourism. It is surviving because of the Base. And that is it.

There is some industry, but nothing compared to Savannah.

The base does a lot for all of Central GA, but I wouldn't go quite that far. There's actually a good bit of tourism here. Between all the historica sites, the museums and the Cherry Blossom Festival, at times downtown looks like a tour bus parking lot.

We must be pretty cool . . . We've got an Arena League 2 team.

Almost sounds like Dover AFB. :birgits_giggle: Not much in Dover with the exception of the racetrack/slots. If those two things weren't in Dover (and being the state capital) would it still be there?

Well, the base does quite a bit. There are a few museums, and the only thing left that draws in a ton of tourism is the cherry blossom thing.

Macon Kights were cool.

But I still think that Macon is sinking further below the taint and close to the ***hole of Georgia. (And think of Georgia as a dude)
