He gets to practice them and can see them 2 hrs before game and 1 hr after game. That's what the announcers said tonight. For those 8 games.

This team is better than what I thought ,atleast for 1 day they were.I think this team will be a major force come March.Great win today

How complimentary were the commentators on the Vols shutdown D. It was hard to ignore. We earned some respect tonight!

Vandy lost to West Virginia then the next game they beat UNC. It will be interesting in the east no doubt! GBO!!!

North Carolina is overrated as usual but Vandy is tough. Kentucky will be decent but I see them finishing 3rd or possibly 4th behind UT Vandy and FL.

I must say, I did too. We seemed out of sync in some way. Not clicking on all cylinders. I was quite impressed with the way we battled in this game. Stayed the course & stayed in the game. Frenetic D. Yet, there are new guys, some not great FT shooting, we don't really have a sharpshooter, nor awesome shooters from longer 2-pt range. So, there is room for improvement & this team will grow together IMO.

What I can say, & could say before this solid performance today (ie, after the VCU game) is that even on days when we don't shoot well, I do believe that we have very solid D.

IMO, I think Pearl knew that we weren't going to be raining 3's, hitting 80% from the line, & nailing 16 ft jumpers all game, so he made sure that we were disciplined & well conditioned to really get down on D.

They answered my prayer! I prayed that they would come out and make a statement against #7 Vanillanova to the country/ESPN for Bruce Pearl and Tennessee Basketball!

UNC isn't all that great, they have lost a couple games already, and tumbled in the polls. They are a fraudulant team so far.

i haven't seen two game sin a row like this where defense was this good in many years. if anything , this was a statement game about this team and the defense they will be playing this year. GVB! The SEC was put on notice tonight.

Very impressive game for the Vols, especially after such a slow start and all the junk surrounding them. Love my man Pearl and the job he does.

This is another good point. Pearl might be the best in the biz at getting his team to block out distractions & focus on the game & task at hand.

Great to see how excited they were to get that win, and to hear the great ovation the team recieved when they were introduced at the football game yesterday.

Was nice to have them in the house.
