I am tired of Fulmer and Sanders pointing to a mistake here and a mistake there that is keeping the offense from being effective. Are we so bad that we have to play a perfect game offensively to compete in the SEC? Well coached teams overcome mistakes. Its time they quit making excuses and get the job done! Many consider Fulmer a great recruiter. That is going to change. If your son was a great receiver , QB or running back would you want him to come to UT? Absolutely not. More importantly the kid will not want to be a part of this mess. I don't want to see Fulmer go but if he doesn't make some changes he must. Doesn't he realize that if he can get the offense going that he can be one of the all time greats and the Vols can get back to where they should be. I can handle a loss if we play well and the other team was just better but this incompentence is too much to stomach.

Bentley1,

I think you're venting what most of us feel, even if we don't always verbalize it that way. It's these delusional excuses that irriate everyone so bad. They are an afront to my sensibilities, frankly.

This last week was a great example, in so far as the method of the loss is in view along with the ensuing explanation. If you were out of town and watched the game on TV, you would have seen the following:

1-109 yards rushing on 35 carries
2-250 yards total offense
3-special teams penalties and fumble
4-conservative 3rd down playcalling
5-excessive penalties, especially on offense and ST
6-critical mistakes
7-dropped passes
8-sideline confusion, late getting plays in, etc.
9-3rd loss in 6 tries; out of the race at midpoint
10-scored 3 points

Magically, to my surprise, I came in town and heard the following recap of the game by our media and coaches:

1-Found our offensive identity
2-Blew people off the ball; got physical
3-Turned the corner on special teams
4-Used a brand new formation that really helped
5-Accomplished what we wanted offensively

OH, NOW I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ABOUT IT! ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME? IS THAT WE EXPECT NOW - MORAL VICTORIES? Where do they come up with this crap?

offense was better....that was possibly the best D in the nation along with ours.....new formation worked.....special teams played better...and if u watch we did blow people off the ball.....250 yards against that D is 450-500 against other Ds....it should have been 21-3 at the end of the 3rd but we fumbled.....also on the play Swain broke up a pick....if he wouldnt have slowed down he could have caught a TD....conservative 3rd down is how you play a team like Alabama....get agressive and thats when you get hammered....
