I know this doesn't guarantee us anything, but remember, Lou Holtz went 0-11 his first year at USCe. In his second season, they went 8–4, winning the Outback bowl against a heavily favored Ohio St. Nine wins the following year.

All I am saying is, keep the faith. Don't let Butch feel that we are not behind him.

If we finish next year with no progress, then maybe it's time to start questioning.

GO VOLS!

Jones went 4-8 his first year at Cincy. Losing to Vandy and KY and having our first 8 loss season does not at all sound appealing. More like appalling.

This team will not lose to Kentucky. What do you think UT should do, fire Jones and start the whole dumpster fire over? Wake up and get a clue, the SEC isn't an instant return conference, it was always going to take a couple of years to get talented players in. What team is hotter on the recruiting trail than Tennessee right now? We may not go to a bowl game, but we will end up with one of the best classes in the country. Tennessee was just a few plays this year from beating Georgia and Vandy, there's no excuses for losing but talent goes a long way in turning those close losses into wins. Put down your liquor and come back to reality, we will be back and soon. I wouldn't be surprised if we won 8 games next year. Rome wasn't built in a day buddy, and Jones has already beat more top 10 teams than Dooley and Kiffin combined so chill out and give the man some time my God.

CBJ said he knew where we were at and where we were going. That's the best offer we've had in this decade....let's take it.

Butch has coached 88 games and won 54. 27 of those wins came against teams like North Dakota,Kent state,Western here & there. 23 of his win at Cincy come against teams like Akron, south Florida, Connecticut of course the other 4 wins here at Tennessee. My point is I understand he needs to get his Players. The best Staff in America crap he told every one chaps my arse . We could go any where in the country and upgrade offensive coordinator .In the SEC when you play the best of the best. You better have good coordinators or you get pink slip in year 3! If he's our savior like some claim. He will turn us around next season not 5 years down the road! 54-34 isn't bad in the SEC! but he didn't win those in the SEC!

You don't know me. I'm not insinuating Butch should be fired or will lose to KY. Anyone that isn't remotely concerned that it could happen should take their head out of Butch's ass though.

WTF does Lou Holtz have to do with Butch Jones?

Hey, remember Derek Dooley went 6-7 in his first season, and then went 5-7 his next two.

FTR we supposedly couldn't lose to Vandy coming off of a bye. Secondly that was as lackluster an offense output I have seen from UT since we got beat by KY. 4-8 is a real possibility. I like Butch I'll support Butch but I don't have to be feeling warm and fuzzy about going up against KY after he and team117 have regressed consistently.

So we should hire Lou Holtz? He's kinda old and grumpy.

I say give Butch a minimum 3 yrs before any of us judge in a negative way. He will need to recruit 3 to 4 classes of his own. If in the event he fails it will not be lack of recruiting. Butch really wants to be here. His work ethic surpasses any coach we have had in the last few years. He will adjust to the SEC very quickly.

Kentucky is crucial. Why? I tell you why. Tennessee and Ohio St. are the only two Division 1 schools to have never lost 8 games in a season.

Holtz won a NC and at one time, was one of the best coaches in the game

losing to Vandy is always traumatic. It SHOULD never happen. However, they were the better team coming into the game. The play calling was conservative and the fake was ill advised. The coaches are doing the best they can with what they have. The team will be improved next year. The new recruits will help a lot, but remember, they will still be Freshman and prone to mistakes.

Lipstick on a pig.
