Losing to the gamebirds sucked. There's no way to sugar coat the fact that our D never showed up. It also sucks that Hendon may have suffered a season ending injury - along with his Heisman hopes.

Having said this, if you had told me at the beginning of the season that we'd beat Bama, Florida and LSU, be in contention for a Nattie, that Hendon would lead the Heisman race, and that we may go 11-2 and play in the 6-pack bowl... I would have laughed at you.

We're Year 2 of the Heupel era. He's turned our program around at light speed. Our offense is isane and fun to watch. We're recruiting at a very high level and have a bunch of DBs coming in that should boost our D immediately.

We took our lumps this season, but all in all, it's been an amazing Year. And we still got Vandy and a big bowl game.

Year 3 and beyond will only get better.

GBO.

Prepare to take a step back next year. A lot of new faces in new places. HOPEFULLY, we'll see a bunch of freshmen because they are better players. But playing freshmen is not ideal in the SEC.

It was a bad unexpected loss last night. Time to lick our wounds, learn from the mistakes made, move on, and beat Vandy next Saturday. Heck at the start of this year let's not lie, we all would have been ecstatic with a 10-2 season.

I've done some silly posting but my serious concern/question is whether this season was a one-time flash in the pan resulting from hitting the lottery on a handful of transfers (something we can't count on every year) coupled with everyone else in the East not named Jawja being poopoo. Even if we finish 9-3, it's better than I expected but I think it would be foolish to tie ourselves to this staff for the next decade with outrageous contracts based on one season where a lot of balls did for once bounce our way.

Yes I would’ve taken 10-2 @ the beginning of the year. However, expectations continued to increase after each win, esp after LSU and Bama. TN needed a little help but had a legitimate **** at the playoffs, so it’s disappointing to lose that opportunity against an inferior opponent. The offense wasn’t in sync but put up points. The defense looks loss and the body language was bad all nt long. I don’t know if we beat Vanderbilt as they are playing well.

We will take a step back next yr (losses @ FL, GA, Bama and one more) but hopefully rebound following yr.
