This person is just looking for clicks! Just because Heupel will have a similar record vs Smart after both of their third year. Comparing Heupel to Smart is BEYOND ASSININE!!! In my opinion, Heupel has probably exceeded our expectations as a whole. Yet, he has shown a lot of downsides like game management, being 1-9 when behind at the half, being 2-7 vs our top three rivals should UT lose to UGA this coming Sat, retaining Banks and Martinez when they aren't ever going to be ELITE on- the D side of the ball, starting Milton over Hooker as well as starting Milton over Nico after the Bama loss this yearj, and LAYING AN EGG LAST YEAR VS USC WHEN UT HAD A GREAT SHOT AT THE PLAYOFFS!!!

Just virtue signaling.

Yes today was a very disappointing away game against a decent (definitely not great) opponent. Heupel is a really good coach though and his success here is part of why we're disappointed. We've been accustomed to seeing his teams beat decent teams like Missouri, often blowing them out.

One thing I am concerned about is recruiting. The best teams in the SEC are always in the top 3 or 4 in the recruiting national rankings. Tennessee is at #13 in Rivals for 2024. That needs to be higher to be consistently winning in the SEC.

Overall Heupel has exceeded my expectations, by a lot. I think we have a very good coach.

So far, he has proved to be a good coach in the FBS, average in the SEC. What is his record against teams when behind at the half? What is his record vs Bama, Florida, Georgia, and Ole Miss?

Bama: 1 - 2
Florida: 1 - 2
Georgia: 0 - 2
Ole Miss: 0 - 1
LSU (played in SECCG): 1 - 0

Heup inherited a dumpster fire… the fact that he has 3 wins in 3 years against that list with the mass exodus and under developed roster he inherited when he got here. Let’s look at the whole body of work, & not be so reactionary after a heartbreaking loss.

He stated an opinion backed by data.

By that alone, I'd say his comment carries more weight than most of the emotional nonsense around here.
This "nonsense" is only going to get louder if there is no improvement in the win column next year. The fans are tired of excuses, because that is all they ever got from the last 3 stooges. He is being paid like he is a championship coach and now it is time for him to earn that money and make the necessary changes, or the fanbase will rise up and chase him out of town.

I know he is not a motivator or rah rah guy and is much more involved in the x's and o's of the game, which is fine, but he will have to look for someone on the offensive or defensive side of the ball in the offseason that can fire the team up and have them ready to play on the road and quit fearing bad Florida teams.

What fans?! The 100k that pack the stadium every Saturday??

You may be tired of the “excuses” but your opinion doesn’t matter. Ticket sales are what ultimately will cost a coach his job and currently Heupel has done a pretty good job at putting @sses in the seats.

Recruiting has not panned out as of yet. If UT maintains its course of being 4th or 5th
in SEC recruiting, we will not improve our 8-4 best scenario. We do not have the
coaching staff overall to beat the better teams in the league.

I feel that Heuple must make some staff changes in order to get over the hump
that UT has in front of them. Changes need to be made in OC duties as well
as DB coaching. Time for some of the "buddies" to go.
