Pete Carrol to Seattle Official

This just trashed USC's recruiting class. I'm thinking SC might be just about to get slapped with some NCAA sanctions.

As I see it, this lets CLK get a real shot at some of those West Coast recruits that had been considering or committed to USC.

Also, I conclude that Carroll saw some handwriting on the wall.. His USC program has fallen from grace a bit with the worst season in years, multiple recruiting investigations and a lot of current players who just didn't live up to their own press releases. The 7million per year from the Sea Hawks probably didn't hurt when he considered walking either.

I'll bet he didn't have more than one or two playes at USC making the kind of money the Seahawks offered him. :)

Yeah, this whole situation tells me that its going to be a bad situation for USC going forward with the NCAA. Pete has had offers like this before in recent years, but jumping at it now leads me to believe that he knows what's coming and that it isn't good.

Took the words right out of my head. USC's reign looked like it was coming to end in front of our very eyes, he new it was his time to cash a big contract somewere while he still could.

Yeah nothing is concrete. But i've been hearing a few things here and there. Usually where there is smoke there is fire. SC has had a great run, about time for it to end anyway.

Kyle Prater and perhaps Jesse Scroggins would be amazing. I know we have a QB that is probably better, but I wouldnt turn him down.

The gates to hell just opened up!...CLK and coach O are running up some serious cell phone bills calling those USC recruits!...This should be quite entertaining to see what happens now.

All the Seahawks have to do is comply with the "Rooney Rule" and Pete is gone. They have an assistant in Minnesota to interview today, then Carroll will sign the contract. Wish it could happen before the Army game this afternoon, but it won't. I am hoping this will pull some of those kids who were on the fence between USC and UT towards the mountains.

Well, this whole thing ain't gonna make some guys happy. Kiffin and CEO step in, having worked with Carroll, can make the recruits feel like UT can be the home away from USC home. Gonna be some unhappy fans of other teams if this plays out the way it could potentially could.

It's a GREAT day to be a VOL!!!!!!!

On the Rivals message board there is someone reporting that Prater has texted Mike Farrell this morning and said that he will not be enrolling early at USC until he finds out what is happening with the coaching situation there. He and other recruits have still not heard anything from the USC coaching staff.

We tried to steal some of Florida recruits but we could'nt so now its time to get some USC recruits. I hope we can with the ties that Coach O and Lane Kiffin have out there in Southern Cal.

We couldnt steal any Fla recruits because that piece of crap liar Meyer is feeding those kids abunch of BS. When he decides to resign, everyone including recruits will know what kinda :censored: this guy is and this will be their last great class for a while IMO!

Sorry, off topic... Does anyone know the word on Blake Sims and why he decommitted from Bama? We are still a school of interest and I know Smith was recruiting him hard to UT. Where is he leaning now?

Could USC go after CLK and Monte? How about Orgeron? I hope we just still all their recruits and keep our coaches.
