Pete Carroll going to the Falcons?

pete isn't this stupid

Not necessarily about being stupid.

People that have had great success in one area but failed in another, sometimes can't let go of the idea of going back to "try again".

I would stay at USC but that is just me.

This would be a bad move by both parties, IMO. Hope it doesn't happen. I can't believe Blank is considering another college coach.

I take it you're thinking about this as a Falcon's fan and not a UT fan. This would be good for Tennessee football.

He's done a great job at Southern Cal, it seems to me he has it made there. I wonder how much Atlanta would offer him.

it seems atlanta has become a black hole for coaches during the vick/post-vick era. reeves, mora, petrino, if i was pete, i would stay at USC, he is a God there. but then again he may have that monkey on his back about the NFL

In all fairness, Pete Carroll has a lot more NFL success than Bobby Petrino.

It's not a question of his NFL resume; it's that when things don't turn around immediately he'll be tempted to go right back to college like everybody else. The last thing the Falcons need is a coach whose name comes up every time an attractive college job comes open.

Not to mention that the only way they'd lure him is by giving him the GM job too, and that almost never works out. I hope this doesn't happen.
