Pete Carroll offered 47 mil to go to Miami

That would be the craziest move in the history of coaching. All Petie has to do is show up at USC and win 10 games a year.

isn't it pretty well established that NFL coaches who move down to college have more success than college coaches who move up to the NFL? Steve Spurrier comes to mind along with Nick Saban. On the other hand, Chan Gaily (sp?) and Dave Wannstedt.

or is it just a wash, with experience in either no predictor of success in either.

To some degree I think that's true. I never understand the coach recycling that goes on. If Carroll sucked with the Jets and sucked with the Pats . . .

They're trying to give him the opportunity to suck through the entire AFC East. They just have to figure out how to get Buffalo to buy into the plan.

Pete Carroll had a conference and specifically addressed the issue. He said that he had not been contacted and that he guaranteed he would be at USC next year.

Forgive Wayne Huizenga if he doesn't take Carroll at his word.

Pretty sure it's still Mike Holmgren. Can't remember how much it is though.

Just looked it up. Holmgren is signed through 2008 at $8 million per year.

Didn't Nick Saban say something along those lines about a month ago?:whistling:

If he said that, he blatantly lied. He met with Huizenga in Costa Rica.

that's not true. he was contacted. he stated that it was the first time all his demands had ever been met, that he would have total control. however, he mentioned it just made him realize how great what he had at USC was and that he fully expects to be back there next year.

I just heard on E! that Pete Carroll is allergic to marine mammals and as such isn't comfortable coaching a team named after one. However, if Wayne Hizinga is willing to rename them the Eastern Trojans, he'll take the job.
