Rumor is out that Pete Carroll is going to take the Seahawks job. I wonder how many of their recruits that we could snag if that went down. Hopefully if it does happen we wouldn't lose any coaches.

He has it made at So Cal

In your opinion. Dude has been interested in other NFL head coaching jobs. This is his perfect NFL opportunity. He'll stay on the west coast and get to be a head coach/GM. He's always wanted that role.

Not to mention college football teaches us that you need to bounce long before a team can fire you and your stock plummets. It is a "what have you done for me lately" profession. I am not saying Carroll will fail to win another National Title at USC, but he is a high profile coach getting a lot of attention. If he takes the NFL job now he can fail and still make a lot of money in the college ranks afterwards. If he gets fired from USC because they can't get it done with more parity (or a USC slide) in the Pac-10 no one will want him.

Chris Mortenson just reported on NFL live that he would surprised if Carrol wasn't the Seahawks next head coach by next week! He confirmed this with multiple sources. Wow who would USC go after? Prater back to UT anyone?

if they leave we'll have to see who they get to come in to replace Carroll. If they pull a big name they can retain their recruits.. USC recruits itself with the city, weather and women IMO

this is true. i'm more worried about losing some of our coaches than the potential recruiting gain. this could get interesting.

CLK wouldnt go if offered. He has to prove himself where he is IMO. More likely, he will see the potential benefits of poaching the USC class first and be seeing stars. I believe CLK is at home in Tennessee and I dont believe USC would take any chances with someone the NCAA seems to be targeting considering their most recent BB sanctions and all. May be too risky of a move for USC since their athletic department is already dealing with trying to get past a scandalous situation. My guess is their AD will go a more conservative route due to this issue. JMO though.
