I loved watching the show as a kid when they had their resurgence in the 80’s. I think Peter actually played the keyboards on Daydream Believer. RIP.

I heard some people at lunch sort of talking about this. They were discussing a Beatles tribute band and how great the Beatles were. The guy said did you hear the drummer died yesterday. The woman said she heard that. What was his name? Ringo Hall? Yes that’s him. Both very sad.

He actually was. Both he and Michael Nesmith were real musicians and they wrote several songs for the Monkees as well as played instruments on some of the songs. The two of them wanted it to be a real band and fought for control away from the creators of the show.
